These are actually used by wound doctors in the USA. I can attest to it because my husband used it for a long time when he was still alive and kept on falling. This item is essential in wound care - they are used to cover the wound so that the wound does not stick to its cover or bandage. I am very glad that it is sold in Amazon. Even in the USA, this item is not widely sold in regular pharmacies. They usually come from specific medical suppliers.

I had a very large and deep wound from an abdominal surgery, which required the use of a wound vac. The issue was that the piece of foam/sponge used would stick to the wound itself, making the dressing changes EXTREMELY PAINFUL. I called the wound vac supplier, and he recommended using this product by placing on the wound bed first, then placing the foam piece in afterwards (this separates the foam from the wound itself, but does NOT affect the healing speed at all). In fact, my wound has healed at a much faster pace since introducing this product. Best of all, I have NO PAIN AT ALL as result of the wound dressing changes!! This is truly a MIRACLE PRODUCT!! As a side note, my home health care nurse never even mentioned this product, even after seeing me cry during wound multiple dressing changes (I’m a very tough, grown man). When asked about it, she said “oh, we have that stuff in our bag”). WHAT?!? My guess is that since this product expedites the healing process, I likely won’t need the home care nurse for as long (which affects their overall profits). Do yourself a favor and GET THIS STUFF!! It is 100% safe, can be trimmed to fit any wound, and makes a world of difference!
