Exactly what you need for a dashcam car with no power when key is off
Why I needed something like this:I got this because my new vehicle does not have power to the cigarette lighter port when the key is off. Yes I could rewire it, but I didn't want to. I have a rexing camera that acts as my rearview mirror (the RexingUSA M2 MAX). It plugs into the cigarette lighter port and will turn off when the vehicle is off. Not ideal when you want to record your parked vehicle.Pros:I can plug this battery into the cigarette port to charge it, while also using a device through it. So it has the ability to handle input and output voltage at the same time. As long as the vehicle is running, using a usb-c cable will charge the battery faster than it is used.The battery has a lot of juice. I mean... A LOT!! If I accidentally leave the battery on while parked in my garage, 10 hours later it will still have some charge, but less than 25% of battery (based off of the 4 charge remaining lights on the device). So this will last you a very long time.I deliver for my second job and my camera is needed. There are a lot of stupid drivers out there. I was rear-ended at a stop light because the driver behind me saw the left lanes turn arrow turn green and he slammed on the accelerator for our lane that was still red. Sent the video to insurance and other driver was 100% at fault after they falsely claimed I brake-checked him. Even with this, 90% of the time, any issues that happen to my car are from other idiots failing to parallel park correctly. This battery allows my camera to stay on between deliveries while parked. My camera would also sometime reboot when starting the vehicle, because of the voltage drop while running the motors starter. While plugged into the battery, it won't do this as it actus like a UPS backup.It comes with lots of cables to plug your devices into, and it will turn your one cigarette lighter port into a charging hub with multiple options to charge multiple devicesCons:I turn it off nightly when parked in my garage. The power button is on top where the plugs are and can be hard to get to some times. you also have to hold the button a few seconds for it to power off. I wish there was a switch on the side to flick for off/on. But this is a very minor inconvenience for how awesome this battery is.If you drain it by accident, it appears to not really shut off when it goes below a certain voltage. I've come out to my car and seen my camera flickering because it was getting a trickle charge from the battery. The battery was giving it everything it had to send out a charge. This might be ok for charging other devices like cell phones, but not for when sustained power needed to a device. It should have a shut off incorporated inside when it drops too low.It also claims to be fully charged in 3 hours.... This is just a flat out lie. I can plug it into my 45w Samsung charger and it will take 6 hours to charge. it does the first 75% quick, but that last 25% takes 5 hours to doOverall:This is a perfect purchase, and I could not be happier with the outcome

Great Product
Happy with my purchase. I use this with my dashcam, as I would prefer not to hardwire directly to my car’s battery. On a full charge, I can get 18-24hrs of continuous power. This allows me to have my dashcam powered on, even when I am away from my vehicle, and my vehicle is off. I keep this powered on in my middle console and haven’t had any overheating issues, even in south Florida.When I am driving, I plug my dashcam back into the car’s outlet and charge the battery in the other car port as I am driving. It is relatively quick to charge the first 75%. The last 25% takes a few hours. I use my macbook charger which indicates “fast” charging when I take it out of my vehicle.Overall, it is a good secondary option if you don’t want to hardwire your dashcam.Buying two would ensure one is always on/working and fully charged, but I have been fine using one for the time being. Down the road, I will probably purchase a second one, as it is way faster to charge it outside of your vehicle, specifically with a macbook charger. Two would eliminate any issue altogether.

Reliable
I used it for my dash cam when I’m parked. It has been reliable for the past 1.5 years but it did stop working, and I had to buy another one.

Does what is advertised . . .
I have used BlackVue dash cameras in my vehicles ever since I was rear ended in 2012 while sitting at a stop sign and the driver that hit me from behind informed the reporting LE that I hit him going in reverse at a very high speed. I have been rear ended while at red lights 3 times since then and my dash cameras put an immediate end to any speculation of what did or did not occur.I currently have 2 BlackVue 970X dash cameras mounted in my 2021 Range Rover Land Rover. Front and rear. The dash cameras become active via the vehicle the second I use my key fob to unlock the driver’s side door. I purchased one of the BlackVue battery packs to use during parking mode (after the vehicle is turned off) for ongoing surveillance and was disappointed. Especially for the price point. Returned it.I have been researching and looking for a reliable substitute for weeks. Reading hundreds of reviews for various products. This product fits my needs exactly.Basically, I have one in the front for the front dash camera and one in the back for the rear dash camera. This back up battery charges WHILE I am driving pulling juice from the vehicle. So once I park, and the outlets turn off (my vehicle turns off outlets when you lock the vehicle), the dash cameras keep working via this battery back up.I haven’t had the opportunity to use these battery back ups for more than a few hours consecutively, but that opportunity is coming up in a few weeks. I plan to document the number of hours that this device provides and will update my review to provide same. Hopefully, it performs well.

It’s ok!
The portable charger is in good size but the battery life is kinda wasteful when I charged on something and power down little fast

Upgraded = Regulated DC Output
I purchased this power brick for the 13.5 volts regulated DC output. My UHF/VHF radio showed 13.7 volts even while transmitting at 20 watts. Charged it full yesterday and it ran for about 4 hours today still showed full charge. Came with a nice quiver of cables to charge almost anything, and, a slick carry pouch.
