Q: how restricive is air flow with this?

You have to cut and stretch enough to get it to work., but a cheap solution to an old problem. Works fine.

Q: Would this foam be suitable to replace a front case foam that has been damaged? Would it affect airflow?

I would think so. I used mine to replace the old foam dust cover on a dehumidifier which needs an airflow on the back of it. It still works efficiently with the new foam cover which I stuck to the plastic cover frame.

It is one piece and easy to cut with sharp scissors. It works very well.

Q: Is this foam flame retardant?

it will melt and release toxic gases but it is not easy to melt , if any of these things happened then you would probably need a new PC!
