5 years of use
I know, this review is a little late, but better then never.I have bought these cameras from ReoLink back in 2019 and use them on my property. They are connected to my network via PoE and recording to my NAS (Synology) Survey Station. I have to say, these cameras have nver missed a beat. The image quality is good enough in day and night. I am sure there are better cameras, but for the price these ones are great.Last week I tried to update the firmware but wasn't able to. The update always terminated in an error that the update file is not recognised. It turned out I had downloaded the wrong file (my bad). I opened a support ticketd and got the response within 24 hours with the solution. To summarise my experience:- Decent price- Good cameras with great image quality- Top support.I will buy more ReoLink products in the future.

Highly recommended
Reolink RLC-420-5MPThese cameras are superb, crystal clear 5M pictures day and night, the local recording to SD works really well but I had to reduce motion detection sensitivity to stop false triggers.A massive improvement on the previous analogue camera system that were replaced. The cameras work fine with a Floureon NVR using ONVIF on port 8000.I powered them using POE from a Netgear GS108PP POE switch. There is a smart intuitive user interface and configuration using a browser is very easy. The Reolink app also works very well and is able to scan the network to find recently installed cameras. Be sure to use 100% copper Cat5e cable, use a cigarette lighter to check it’s not the cheaper copper coated aluminium. No issues with long cable runs, 100m is fine and add a switch if you need another 100m. There are several YouTube videos showing how to install.Everything you need is in the box, but I recommend using a separate waterproof box for outside connections e.g. Toolstation code: 46428 £1.35In summary, these cameras are incredible value and really well made, I have no hesitation in recommending them.

Brilliant Cameras considering the cost
These were incredibly easy to set up, no power required, just PoE from the Reolink NVR that I purchased with these. Just one cable to the camera. The picture quality is incredible, literally couldnt fault it. The night vision is also pretty good to be honest. I would say the only down side is the motion detection... It is not true motion detection but rather work on a change in pixels. This is all well and good if light stays as a constant but if clouds go over on a sunny day for example it will trigger the motion alerts. There are settings to change motion zones and the sensitivity but it is quite an art to get this working exactly how you want it to with good results. It would be a lot better with true motion detection but then they would probably cost a LOT more. All in all these are brilliant cameras and the quality is top notch.

Simple to install
I bought these to replace a WiFi camera which kept losing WiFi connection (poor WiFi hardware in it)I also bought a simple POE 4 port switchAbsolutely simple to installEthernet from my router to the switch and the same from the switch to the cameras.Switch on and works right away.I have 256gb cards in each but I am considering linking them up to my Synology NAS.Absolutely recommend these for a simple to install solution with good day and night resolution. I may even add another two

Sat in a box for a year!
Bought these, and then didn't do anything with them for a year!As with all Reolink kit, when you look at the price, they are punching well above their weight.Got them set up in no time, picture quality is great, night vision is passable, and the motion / detection is pretty solid.I have connected to a software NVR through Onvif, so they'd detect rain as motion quite a bit, however, in the Reolink app this wasn't the case, so maybe there's a little bit of extra logic that's not used in the raw Onvif protocol. The firmware upgrade process is a little bit of a dogs dinner, wouldn't apply the latest firmware through the app, had to download, and then install the PC app to install (wouldn't even do from the Web interface) Also, the latest firmware on the Reolink website is actually out of date - you have to complete a support form, where they'll then send it on to you because.....reasons? !All in all, recommend though!

Great camera and works with Synology
Great camera, with a good picture and quite good night time picture.Setup was easy, as long as you login to the camera directly (using the IP address only in a browser window), then changing the user/ password, checking all other settings are fine. Then adding the camera on Synology, by searching for the camera, selecting Brand = 'Reolink', Camera Model = 'RLC-420', Port = '80' and username/ password setup.Edit:After first install, I changed my setup, hence needed to re-install the camera. On the setup of the camera, I found that some of the settings needed to be adjusted to ensure the Synology maintains 'keep alive' with the camera.I followed the same setup instructions as I mentioned above, but also perform the following steps to ensure the camera continues to maintain connection (not sure what of the following has done the trick, but these are the setting I personally use):Under Camera Settings (Video Tab)- Change field of view to 5MP- Resolution to 2560x1920 (highest)- Frames to a higher number (I use 16 FPS)- Bitrate to 4096Hope this helps
