Already paid for itself
We seem to have the only cat in the world without a sense of direction. After multiple instances of our cat, Radish, going missing and having to be found and brought home we ordered Tabcat after doing a bit of research. We initially chose Tabcat over other brands due to its discreet size, having quite a small cat.Well the day after we programmed it Radish went missing. Initially he was out of range but we walked down the road a bit and was then able to follow the tracker to his location.I was really impressed with the accuracy of Tabcat. He actually got into the bonnet of a car and was sitting on the warm engine. I would have never have found him otherwise because he was completely out of sight, but because we were sure of his location we knocked on the owner of the cars door and got him to pop the bonnet. This has really made life a lot less stressful for us. We were previously considering putting Radish under permanent house arrest which would have been a nightmare for everyone as he’s slightly wild and loves the outdoors, and now we don’t have to.

Great tracker
I've had these for my cats for years, and they've saved the day many times when the cats have got shut in sheds, wardrobes etc., or have just gone a bit too far from home. As I recently got a new addition to the family, who is known to be a wanderer, I decided a tracker was a must. The new silicone cases are a pig to get the tags into, but once they're in they're very secure and protected. Very pleased with the product, as always.

Useless
Absolutely useless. You'll locate your cat only if you miss them somewhere in your flat. If you have outdoor cats, NEVER buy this. Waste of money. Your cat won't be protected. max meters15

1 year later review
My cat didn't go too far when he had this on his collar, but it was still usually hard to figure out where he was as the range is quite short. Even so this was the first time my cat wore a collar and he managed to take his collar off and bite through the tracker and destroy it. The main thing it is good for is just training them to learn that the beeping on the tracker means it's time for food.

5 stars with a note
I wanted to share a little more information about the pros and cons of this product and why I think it’s worth a five star review.I’ll start with the positive before readers get bored. My cat went missing recently, and although I didn’t know it at the time he’d fallen from height and dislocated his pelvis, so he couldn’t stand. He wasn’t able to leave the garden on my estate that he was injured in, and without the ability to walk around and get a bit of a fix on the position of his tracker, I never would have found him and got him to a vet. Whatever the outcome of the surgery is, this product helped me find him and give him a chance that he wouldn’t otherwise have had, and for me that’s well worth a five star rating despite the cons below. The less good bits then. If you’re expecting a product that’ll let you home in on your pet from hundreds of meters away, picking their collar up immediately and following the tracker straight to them, you’re going to be a little disappointed. I know I was before it proved its worth. Fences, vegetation, buildings, anything that interrupts line of sight will reduce the effective range. Within a fortnight my cat had lost his first tracking collar and ironically I’ve never been able to track it down (although I didn’t try particularly hard because I had a spare and the cat came home). So it’s not foolproof by any means!Other comments:The buzzer on the collar tracker is not particularly loud, but that’s because it’s attached to an animal with sensitive hearing, so it’s a reasonable compromise. The tracker itself is small and lightweight. Smaller than a GPS tracker and without a subscription.I’ve had it for about a year and the batteries in both tracker and handset are still going without a change. So in summary - if you appreciate that what you’re buying is not going to go out, find your car for you, and carry them home while you put your feet up, but it will provide you with a much better chance to track down your pet when it needs help, then this product may be for you.
