Fun model that looks great

Great model, great value for the money and fit together very nicely. It is a great size for desktop display and keeps its stability during handling (not for rough play). Great first model for a young preteen or anyone who wants a really cool jet to display.

Decent model

This was bought for my son for part of his project for school. He enjoyed putting it together.

So awesome.

I’m 45 years old and when my six-year-old put this together, which was super easy for him and when he showed me, I thought that was the coolest Lego I had ever seen. It is very durable. It has wheels. It is not very expensive. The design is fantastic on it. And to build it, my six-year-old built it if that tells you how easy it is and the size I did not expect it to be as big as it was, but it is awesome. I am so glad I got this for his birthday and he absolutely loves it.

Looks great, but more like a model kit than a LEGO set

I bounced around a lot in trying to determine just what I thought of this set as I was building it- but about 2/3 of the way through it hit me just what was bugging me about it: it feels far closer to one of the 'snap-together' model airplane kits than a LEGO set.The good: The finished aircraft looks quite good- there's little doubt that they did a good job of capturing the iconic shape and look of the SR-71 in this set. The instructions were fairly clear- they're not quite as detailed at points as LEGO would use, but they were clear and easy to follow (but I will note, perhaps not particularly for a young builder). The parts themselves were about the level of quality I expect from non-LEGO element parts- they went together easily enough, but don't have the tolerance that LEGO holds their part mouldings to.The bad: As I said at the beginning- this feels more like a snap-together model kit that happens to use some LEGO elements than an actual LEGO set. Nowhere is this more apt of a comparison as the fact that it comes with two plastic 'trees' of parts just like an old-school plastic airplane model. 34 of the 183 pieces in the set are on the plastic trees- and all of them are quite clearly not standard LEGO elements. There are a few more that aren't on the trees that are also not elements that I've ever seen in a LEGO set before- simply put, all of the more complex shapes of the aircraft are accomplished using parts that would not be useable on a model of any other aircraft than the SR-71.Now, there are advantages to that- they are able to achieve a -VERY- good likeness of the Blackbird by doing this. But, if your intent is to rebuild the kit as anything else or use the parts with other bricks, only the most creative builders will be able to make them work well. The other is that this was clearly something that the company designed and built themselves- far too commonly the companies will look through the fan-designed sets on sites like Bricklink and simply steal a design and release it as their own without attribution or compensation. This was clearly not that case, and I do have to applaud them for that. There was one of the parts that was clearly mis-moulded and made it through whatever QC they have- it's shown in the last picture. Thankfully it wasn't so badly malformed that it wasn't usable and it is also located someplace where it really isn't visible. In the end, whether the issue of the heavily-custom parts used for this set is a problem will likely come down to how you intend to 'use' the set. If you're getting it to build once and be displayed without being played with or rebuilt, this kit is probably just what you want. But if you're getting it with the intend to build it and then take it apart and try and build other things with it (or play roughly with, as at least the landing gear attachments are kind of weak), it's probably not the best choice.

Looks great but falls apart

Awesome design but as always when you buy off brand blocks they aren’t as high quality, so it constantly falls apart while and after building it. If you’re building it for a young kid that’s going to want to play with it you might as well superglue it all together.

Awesome builds

Enjoyed putting the fighter jets together. No issues following the instructions and not missing any pieces.

Pretty decent quality block knock off.

It's not very close to the quality of real Lego, but that's OK; it's still pretty nice. The instructions were easy to follow and it went together in about 10 to 15 minutes. You probably might not add it to your official Lego collection because it's obvious that it's a knockoff, but again for the price and the cool factor that's OK by me.I wish Lego made a jet like this but they don't so you have to buy the imitation.Overall would recommend for around the twenty dollar range.
