A good model of a ship that led a Battle Group my frigate was a part of in the early '80s.An odd scale, so it will not fit exactly with my other ship models. Details are fair, not on a par with newer Tamiya kits, but better than most vintage kits. Some folks are too picky when rating less-than-top-tier kits. Take them for what they are, not for what you want them to be.Includes a good mix of aircraft types, though not all should be used together. The RA-5c, A-6A, F4 Phantom and A-7 Corsair would be used for Vietnam War through late '70s service, the F-18, F-14, S-3 Viking and EA-6B would be used for more modern service.The defensive missiles and guns andcships boats are somewhat poorly done, but that is common for most ship models. Being ex-Navy, I do pick up on poorly detailed equipment. Overall, it is a decent representation of a great ship.

This was a very good model to pass the time with. 1/800 is not a common scale so you pretty much have to use the parts you are given instead of purchasing different aircraft or other parts but that was fine for me. I was looking for a 1975-1980 version of USS kitty Hawk and this was it. Put it together and it looks great. I have it enclosed in a wood and glass case and am very pleased with this purchase

This model was great for my 11 year old grandson to put together. At first he was overwhelmed by all the pieces but his Grandpa instructed him to follow step by step. Took him about 3 partial days but he was so proud to have finished it!

cheap plastic, small parts just break even when I cut them to remove. testor glue just melts the plastic, even the testor paint melts the parts. save your money.

Absolutely pleased with everything

I bought this for my grandson, and he absolutely loves it! Makes a great birthday or holiday gift. He spent hours doing detail work with paints, and has it displayed on his dresser.

Nice model kit with accurate parts. Only problem with kit was that directions are difficult to decipher and paint colors were hard to find.

arrived on time. Neat little ship. Gave it as a gift and the recipient was excited. Parts are smaller than I realized but was not aware of what the scale meant. Shipper was easy to work with.
