HEALTH CONCERNS DICTATE "GIVE UP COFFEE"? HERE IS A BETTER-THAN-COFFEE ALTERNATIVE.
Have you been searching for and trying coffee alternatives for health concerns--and failing, returning to coffee again and again Those various herbs and roasted grains just do not satisfy. My search ended happily when I discovered Worldwide Botanicals French Chicory Root. Some coffee drinkers mix chicory with their coffee, but I find it stands on its own. It is smooth, delicious and satisfying with none of the acidic side effects. Chicory contains inulin, a prebiotic which contributes to a happier digestive system. Say good-bye to coffee-produced heartburn. Worldwide Botanicals French Chicory Root is comparably priced to a pound of coffee, but one uses only half as much to make a full- bodied, satisfying cup or potful. This chicory is roasted to perfection by a small French family-owned company with generations of experience. This chicory contains no additives, fillers, or preservatives. Just pure French roasted chicory, naturally caffeine free. I have shared this beverage with my niece and a friend. They are now fans of this Worldwide Botanicals product. I think you will be also.

Delicious Coffee Alternative. Non-Acidic & No Caffeine.
I love my coffee & don’t like it being messed with, so I was very skeptical but pleasantly surprised with this stuff. Worldwide Botanicals chicory coffee is an excellent alternative for those with acid reflux or sensitive stomachs, not to mention the added health benefits of chicory root. The chicory grounds themselves don’t smell like coffee (obviously) but once brewed it has a similar flavor to coffee. It’s on the stronger side, so I had to experiment a bit to find the right ratio of grounds to water that suits my taste. It’s also not caffeinated, so for those looking to get your morning caffeine fix this is good to know.Overall, it’s delicious coffee & the 5lb bags are the most economical way to buy it. Highly recommended. Give it a try, you’ll probably be surprised!

A root that deepfakes a coffee bean flavor! (for those who are flexible)
Not being a true coffee 'connoisseur' take this as such. I recently discovered caffeine has a REVERSE effect on me; I get VERY tired after a normal cup of coffee. Weirdly, I DO like the flavor of coffee, so tried a decaf version. Nope; still tired. Looked for alternatives, knew that chicory was a long known brew, but had never tried it (other than to yell at it growing in my horse pasture, taking over the planet there).!!! This is pretty close to a decent cup of joe! I overused it the first single cup I made. I use a decent sized mug, and tried it with 2 tsps. Too much! 1 slightly rounded tsp is enough. Tastes good with coconut or regular milk, or whipped cream!Gotta say I am pretty surprised that a root can taste much like a coffee bean. If you're a terribly serious coffee lover you may not appreciate this. I find it to be very similar with a bit of earthy taste. To smell it in the bag reminds me of raisins and sweet potato. The brewed taste is nothing like the scent. Give it a try, you may like it!

Giving my 2 cents
First of all i would like to say that I researched and read tons of reviews before purchasing this product specifically. Second i would like to say that one person on the reviews for this said they started adding sugars to it. I have the bag and on the back it says zero sugar and zero added sugar so maybe they did that at one time, but I can assure you it does not have sugar at all. This almost stopped me from purchasing it, but I saw a lot of other reviewers showing the ingredients side and it said zero sugars. Now on to the flavor; it has a fruity flavor to me. Citrus notes. I’ve never had chicory by itself so I wasn’t sure what to expect. It is definitely a lot richer than coffee so it’s hard to cream up like coffee with plant based creamers. I’ve changed my morning routine drink so many times ever since I had Covid because apparently I’m super sensitive to caffeine now, essentially coffee and i understand it takes time for my taste buds to get use to something new. I currently do half-caf coffee blend so I added it to it and brewed it in my little basket for my K-Cup machine. I did half of the coffee blend and half of the chicory. when my bag arrived I did do a full cup of only the chicory so i could see how the flavor was and I was surprised at how good it was. It definitely doesn’t taste like coffee, but I think over time i could get use to it. Now to find the right creamer because i always used almond milk plant based creamer and I recently had patch testing done and found out I’m allergic to almonds. 🙈

Delicious and Has Great health benefits!
Not only is this very tasty on its own, but it's great to mix a few spoonfuls with regular coffee (to decrease overall caffeine intake). I generally use half chickory and half coffee with cashew milk. Beyond the delicious taste, it clearly has benefits on the digestive tract and has contributed to an overall "regularity" that is very welcome. ha.

Well, I'm sold. This tastes great.
Original flavor. Roasted chicory byWorldwide Botanicals. What a great substitute for regular coffee. This is going to be my regular morning drink.I bought a glass French coffee press and made this French chicory coffee in it. I usually use a drip coffee maker but I think there's something extra about using a coffee press. It enhances the flavor and the experience, like having a fancy coffee in a coffee shop.I put 1 tablespoon of chicory and filtered water up to the 13.5oz mark in the coffee press. I followed the instructions for the coffee press exactly as directed. This ratio of chicory to water may seem weak for some. I didn't want to make it too strong and It turned out to be just the right ratio for me. But you can adjust the ratio to your own taste, just experiment with it. It will be different ratios depending on whether you use a drip coffee maker or a French press. The way I made it, it was perfect for me, I was taken by surprise at how rich tasting it is, very flavorful, not bitter. It is a comforting hot beverage. I think it actually tastes equal to or even better than coffee. I drank it black and then with creamer and it tastes great either way.I love that this French chicory has nothing added to it. There's no other ingredients, no artificial flavors. It's just French chicory. Fantastic.I will be buying this brand from now on.
