My nephew has autism - he's about 6 years old. I am always looking for great toys to keep him active and engaged. He loves toys that have a great sensory aspect - especially touch. This is a safe and fun way for him to feel the textures of the items in the gel and get to refine motor skills. The play pad isn't huge, but that's actually nice because it's something he can focus on and it isn't too overwhelming. The gel material inside is soft and maleable, and there are a variety of shapes and items to push around. I am really optimistic that it will be right up his alley.

Great to use for therapy

I have a Kindergarten student who needs to keep his hands busy in order to focus during whole group instruction. This is the perfect tool to give him something to do with his hands. I used cheap hair gel as the filler and it gives just the right amount of movement to the shapes.

This was quite difficult to fill. Had I known that, I never would have purchased it. It was so messy and took forever! The toy itself is well made and the cards will last. I like that there are so many options, so we can continue the activity, instead of a once and done kind of play mat. Ou just have to get past the frustration of trying to fill it.

My son is 7, and disabled I thought this would be good for him. The cards are hard to insert when water has been added.. The shapes do not move easily. If to much water they float to much amd can't control. If not enough water added they are hard to move period. If I did t toss the box this would be returnedTotal waste of money

Works best with a small bit of baby oil, not water. Exactly what I was hoping for.

I love this brand !! And I love the idea of this product but the cards got wet. It's pretty much inevitable because you have to put it in before filling it with water or else you're just bending and struggling the whole time to put it in once it's filled with water. Also leaked the same day I got it so we just haven't used it since. Had high hopes and the kids liked it for about 5 minutes but now it's sitting pretty in the trash because it was pretty much unusable ):
