Good book. Loved it

I gave this to our grandson for Christmas. I am sure he's gotten a lot out of it. There's always room for improvement and what better way than to read this book and put it to the test when the student is writing essays, etc. It is a book that one can always use. It will never go out of style.

Third time I have owned this book. Your usage vocabulary will get a great boost.

A bit out of date. For example, we don't have as many spelling problems nowadays (thanks to the autocorrection in Word, etc). The pronunciation chapter is mainly on the American accent and seemed redundant to me.

I believe I need to read it again. This should be required reading for high school students.

Bought this for a person whose first language is not English. It has been very helpful for his pronunciation. Studying the roots of words has aided him in understanding meanings as he reads. The only complaint is that sometimes the author's language is stilted.
