Love it!
My Apple keyboard died. Obviously I needed a keyboard - so I searched Amazon. This guy popped up. Always hesitant to buy items that purport to do what a name brand item does - a less cost. Well - this keyboard does it all (does it very well)- and then some. The feel and touch of the keyboard is great. The attitude of the board on my computer table is perfect. Very happy I bought it.

One of the Best Keyboards for Mac
Most manufacturers, including Apple, now only offer Bluetooth keyboards, which, in my opinion, is a real issue. Latency issues when connecting and the occasional inability to recognize the keyboard during an emergency restart can sometimes make the user experience frustrating.Another problem with Bluetooth keyboards is their battery life. For heavy users such as journalists and academics, these keyboards often have a relatively short lifespan—around three to four years at best. This Macally keyboard is designed for those who write long texts and will appreciate its comfortable typing experience. It also features a sufficiently long cable to be used with a Mac Pro. My only minor complaint is that the Caps Lock indicator is located to the right of the keyboard rather than on the key itself—I personally prefer a small LED directly on the key to indicate when it's activated.Another great feature of this keyboard is the ability to adjust, disable, or fine-tune the brightness of the backlit keys. Many other manufacturers make their backlighting too bright without offering a way to modify it.Overall, having tested numerous keyboards, including Apple’s, this one is by far among the best I’ve ever used. I also appreciate its reasonable price given its quality, and the construction feels solid and durable.

In one word: "Eh." Details within.
I like that it's wired. This is nice because you don't have to charge it, and if you want to use the backlights, cool, it won't drop the battery to 0% in a day. Key spacing is a decent, keystrokes don't require a lot of press depth and it's quiet to type on. All wins for me.The frustrations, however, outweigh the good things.First off, my capslock and right shift keys seem to have dislodge from the little frame that holds them on, and they will not reattach. When looking at the mounting points with a macro lens, they just look like they've worn off from excessive use. These are not keys I use often so it's strange. I took electrical tape and basically loosely taped the keys to the keyboard in order to "fix" this issue. The keyboard does not seem to align with MacOS' "F-Key" settings. There's an Fn lock function built into the keyboard that, KIND OF emulates the MacOS setting but not very well. Also, Fn does not function like it does on Mac native keyboards. This could be Apple's intention but I'm not interested in conspiracy theories here and am assuming otherwise.Bottom row has an extra Fn key on the left end (not needed; the one above Delete is fine), and on the right, a "Save" key. This one drives me CRAZY because if I reach down for Option or control, I almost always hit this key and it either creates a Save dialog for me. I wish this keyboard had NEITHER of these keys like their other wired keyboard.Occasionally, the keyboard just forgets the settings you've chosen for backlight level, Fn lock, etc, and defaults itself. So, all in all, I really wanted to like it, but it's clear that there's a QC issue with MacAlly. I guess, you get what you pay for. Once funds permit, I'm just going to pick up a new Apple Magic Keyboard.

Sometimes Wired Is Better!
I have really tried to love Bluetooth and Wifi mice & Keyboards. They USUALLY work, but I got sick of dealing with connectivity issues, delays, etc. And BATTERIES and/or charging - never at a good time- UGH!!So, after decades of waiting for wireless technology to be effortless , and being tired of my tiny, flat-keyed Apple keyboard that had no number pad, I finally threw in the towel. My new Mac Mini M2 Pro has a matching base that’s also a USB hub, so I have plenty of ports and decided to go old-school.Well- I love it! This keyboard works EVERY SINGLE TIME, has a nice numeric keypad, and there’s enough space between the keys to actually type like it’s 1999! Well, almost… it doesn’t go “clickety-clack.”Oh, don’t get me wrong- this keyboard looks up-to-date and looks great on my desk. The silver & black appearance is very fitting with the Mac Mini. Most of all, the backlit keys look great, and especially when that corner of the room is dark. And the wire - totally unobtrusive.I’ve bought MacAlly products since God was a child… always good stuff.
