Nice set of hand bells
Have a friend who had an accident and was unable to move easily. Had them sent to his house so he could summon his wife when needed. They were loud enough the first time he used them.He is now waiting for his proctologist to remove them.

Strangely hard to ring. In spite of being cheap, I expect it to actually ring each time.
I always thought you ring the bell by picking it up and rocking the handle back and forth. Wrong. This bell only seems to ring in one polar direction . The looped end which holds the clapper shaft only allows for free movement along one axis. The result is you don't get a clear continuous repetitive ringing unless you find the sweet-spot. If you miss it, you get a lot of dead-silent swings...no strikes on the bell at all. How hard is it to do it right?
