Great for macro photography, but is on the heavier side than I would of likedProduct came in packaging that looked cheap, however the product itself is of a very good quality and gives great results

A solid piece of kit which does a great job providing flexible lighting for macro photography. The only downside, and why it loses its fifth star, is that it is designed only for camera hot shoe mounting and not for use free-standing. However, with the help of Heath Robinson I've engineered a make-shift stand for it which should do the job.

Compact adjustable both in direction and power. Filters also supplied. Good value.

Nice lights, does what I need

I thought this was a good creative addition to my macro photo kit, especially for tabletop use. On first look, the unit seemed very flimsy and plastic for it's price. The knobs and battery compartment are a little dated and cheap. The gooseneck arms are a lot heavier and quite flexible and poseable, has a fitting for a hot/cold shoe but needs to be secured to something to allow proper posing of arms. The biggest downside for me was it's battery life. My fresh set of brand name batteries lasted little over three uses of quite short duration. Once the battery life starts dropping, it really affects it's power and the output dwindles to where I'd get more light from a bic lighter.I don't know where all the 5 star reviews came from but I was convinced by them to buy this product before shelling out for the leading named macro arms. I wished I had just bought several rechargeable LED flashlights instead, which in my opinion will do a much better job. I will now be doing so while I save for the big brand.This product isn't a photography product and is priced too high. Not for me, I'm afraid.

The delivery of this item was very swift. I'm a nature photographer specializing in macro, and I find these LED lights great for those dark areas of woodlands to photograph fungi. The whole unit sits on the shoe of the camera. The fact that there are 3 lights, with flexible arms to direct each light where I want, rather than flat frontal lighting is great. Each light can also be dimmed or strengthened too. Uses AA batteries. Packs away so easily in my camera bag too. Recommended.
