This flashlight is the long-lasting version of those small hand-helds
Small to tiny hand-held LED flashlights are all the rage right now. Unfortunately the batteries on those flashlights lose their charge really fast. It may be okay since they're all rechargeable, but I prefer the general utilitarian service life of old Ray-O-Vac zinc/carbon batteries in the flashlights of yesteryear.Modern lithium-ion reachargeable batteries inside LED flashlights are engineered to produce extremely bright light, but all that brightness comes at the cost of using up service life. It's a problem because the manufacturers forgot we need useful SERVICE LIFE from every flashlight/battery. So they make these tiny flashlights with brilliant light beams and negligible service life before you gotta recharge the thing. This product has two rechargeable lithium-ion cells. Lasts twice as long as the smallish single-cell version, which is still over 6 1/5 inches long. (This product is ~10.5 inches long)Thank you for reading my rant. If I may add, It seems flashlight makers are competing with each other on the basis of brightnes and features. Since brightness is controlled by whoever makes LED's, they have to compete on feature sets they can control, and in my opinion they've gone off the deep end. I don't need strobing. I don't need to morse code SOS. I don't need the complexity of using a single switch to sequence different 'modes'. Just give me a effing simple flashlight with usable brightness and a simple off/on function. Is that too much to ask?One more point: I've noticed that these flashlights 'get lost' on my desktop, in a cluttered drawer, in the trunk of my car or wherever I place them. Basically they disappear from sight almost as soon as I put them down. That's because they're all black, and black is perfect clutter camouflage. Simple fix is to gorilla glue a bright fluorescent orange strip of ribbon on each one and look for that when looking for - where did I leave that darned flashlight?Thank you for reading this.

best flashlight I have ever had and customer service is exceptional
I bought my first flashlight about a year ago or so and was very happy with it. Very hardy and has some weight to it. I can light up my whole backyard at night and I live on the 4th floor. I lost the power cord when moving and called customer service to see if they would send me a new power cord and they agreed and I was stunned when I got the package and it was a brand new flashlight. They really are nice people. It charges quickly, holds the charge, and have lot of cool features that many lights don't have. Its my favorite flashlight and I doubt I will have to buy another but if I do, it will be from them. Very kind people and if I could give them 100 stars, I would. Thank you very much you guys.

This was indeed BRIGHT, but doesn't recharge!
I found this to be extremely bright but the adjustability of the spot focus was rather odd in that when focusing the full intensity upon the smallest area possible, the beam was divided into for square blocks of light--this inevitably is due to the source being in fact four square LEDs soldered very closely to one another on a single circular PCB.This perhaps isn't the best solution given that each LED chip requires ample contact with quality heatsink material sufficient to wick away the heat generated by each when powered on--heat that if not conducted directly off the individual LED chips would be detrimental to the LED longevity.I cannot speak to the longevity of the included LEDs because I unfortunately got 1 full charge out of the unit prior to it failing. I've tried other charging cables that I knew with certainty worked on other USB-C devices such as my cell phone and tablet. This did not solve the problem.I checked the charging port for any fuzz or debris which might be preventing complete insertion of the charging cable but this was also not a problem since the charging port has a rubber flap that fits into it and covers the charging port (USB-C) as well as the included USB-A port for charging other devices. I haven't used the USB-A port to power any other devices because I cannot get the flashlight to recharge so I can try to use it for that purpose!Tried lower amperage charger (500ma) and a midrange 1ma as well as the 2.5ma charger for my Samsung Galaxy S10. None of the different currents mattered...the flashlight simply WILL NOT RECHARGE.Sadly...I did NOT use the flashlight enough in the first 30 days of ownership to notice the inability to recharge it, so it is past the return window on Amazon. It worked fine the first time out of the box, then never after. Perhaps the seller will stand behind the product, but at this point, I must rate 1 star for the unsatisfactory lifespan. This was a VERY EXPENSIVE DISPOSABLE 🔦!!!

You most unscrew the end cap to the batteries and remove the small plastic disc.
The light came with no instructions and failed to work so I ended up returning it for a replacement. Turns out there was nothing wrong with the one I returned that could not have been solved simply by insuring instructions were enclosed. You have to unscrew the back of the light and remove a small piece of plastic. Also the grid that shows when you zoom is not very desirable to me. not sure until I use it more as to rather I will like it or not.
