Anyone trying to use this in a band in a typical music venue will not be happy.
UPDATE... So on the recommendation of a friend, I ended up getting a replacement instead of a refund. Apparently I got a bad one the first time around. My replacement has been working flawlessly for several gigs and rehearsals now. Two more of my band members have gotten this unit on my recommendation and they are both extremely happy with them. Sooooo convenient!! Eliminates the need for a rack to hold the receivers. They perform flawlessly night after night... no drop-outs, sound quality is great and plenty loud. The bad reviews on here are because either they, like me, got a bad one, or they have something in the line not set up right. Some reviewers mention weak signal... there is a switch on the transmitter for "line" or "aux"... this makes a difference in the overall signal strength. Make sure you set it right for your purpose. Get this, make sure all your settings are good, and you will be happy. If you know all your settings are proper, and its not performing well, then you probably got a bad one like I did initially. Again, my replacement has been AWESOME and so have the other two that my fellow band mates purchased. I can't recommend it enough!! You'll never want to go back to a floor monitor!ORIGINAL POST -- I honestly don't know how this product has gotten so many good reviews. I think maybe a lot of them are using them in a more friendly environment... or maybe the factory's quality control is not good and they are making some good ones and some bad ones, and maybe I got a bad one. Very disappointed and returning after initial testing. Description claims range to be 90 feet. Mine cuts out at around 25 feet or so, and that is at my home studio under very controlled conditions. The sound quality is pretty poor also. I wouldn't expect it to be perfect, but I have a rackmounted Xtuga unit that has over 150 feet of range and the sound quality is better and it is actually a 2-transmitter/receiver unit and cost less than this Xvive. I wanted to give this a shot because of its transmitter being so small, battery powered and convenient because it plugs straight into the mixer, eliminating cords and rack etc. The idea is great, but it just doesn't perform as advertised. Maybe I just got a bad one... I don't know. But I did read several reviews from Guitar Center website (after I bought it and tried it... my own stupidity) that stated the same problems, so I'm not gonna waste my time with a replacement. If you play in a gigging band in your typical bars and clubs where there's tons of Wi-Fi and other interference sources in and around the place, don't waste your time and money on this. You won't be happy.

Great sound quality, long battery life at a bargain price!
I am a professional musician and perform in shows at a theater as a steady gig (plus additional freelance work) and have used this Xvive U4 as my in-ear system for a few years now. This is my second set. I purchased the second set of these as a back-up (which I have never needed) and because the original one that I was using developed a loose and scratchy volume/gain knob. Please understand that this only happened after using these on a daily basis for a couple of years. The original still works fine, but I find that the volume control moves too easily. The new ones that I bought to replace the original does not have this issue, but then again....it is new as of a couple of months ago. They have great quality with NO hiss or background interference...easily powers my in-ears with plenty of gain remaining if I ever needed it. Find a clear channel and you are good to go!! Other in-ear monitors cost far more and do not offer any better quality than these. I have been VERY HAPPY with this purchase and have recommended this model to other musicians.

Very reliable
I use this receiver/transmitter combo at Church where I play bass for the Worship band. Two other members were already using this model so I was able to test one of theirs before buying it myself. The results led me to buy my own, and I'm really glad I did.I've used it for the past month at practice and sermons and it has been nothing but completely reliable. It's a solid, well-built unit and hasn't dropped audio ever. It works great when I use Mixtender on my iPad to adjust the levels of all of the players and vocalists in the band.I've found no negatives about it whatsoever. The sound isn't perfect - not a lot of bass, and it's a bit trebly - but for my purposes, it's just what I need: Reliable transmitting/receiving, no audio delay, and good sound.
