I feel this one is a winner.
My sister cut hair for a living and always cut mine. I’ve always had fine hair so any kind of length was totally unmanageable unless I soaked it with mousse, gel or whatever the fad was at the time. I rarely used anything. I’m now in my 60’s and don’t have as much of that fine hair. When my sister passed I had to find a barber and start paying $16 to $20 per haircut. Sticker shock! I found a barber I liked. Well, I liked the barber the person, but not the barber the barber. It seems I never came away twice with the same haircut. I finally just grabbed by beard trimmer and started wacking my own hair. It came out kind of rough, but was good enough for me and I wasn’t trying to impress anyone. Not bad, but not professional either and it took forever. Doing the back of my head was a real PITA. In order to make my life easier I started hunting for something better.I almost bought one of those round rotating things to cut my hair, but although they seemed like they could do okay on the majority of my scalp, around the ears, neck and such it would be useless and I would still have to use my beard trimmer.I stumbled across this guy and took the chance. It came charged right out of the box, but I went ahead and plugged it in and in thirty minutes it was at full charge. (The light blinks while charging and is solid when done.) My hair was already short so I clipped on the 3mm (about 1/8 inch) comb and went to work. It took about five minutes to do the job. I’ll refrain from saying it looks professional, but it’s not far from it. It’s close enough that it satisfies me and no one will ever give my head a second glance. Much better than my beard trimmer of course and much much quicker and easier. No doubt easier than any standard hair clippers when trying to give yourself a haircut. When ordering I thought the odd shape of this clipper would make it awkward to hold in my hand, but that’s not the case. It’s light, smaller than you would think and easy to grip. I had no problem guiding it around my head to get an even cut. I’m very happy with the end result. It came with a small case for the clippers as well as a small brush to clean the clippers, oil, a charger and nine different combs to attach to the clippers. It came with some little fold out instructions that actually had quite a bit of information. What the parts were. How to take it apart, put together and clean it. Oiling. It included a little chart comparing combs to barber grades (equivalent cutting length). It even tells you how to do around your ears and neck.If I had any complaints it would be that it has this little storage case for the clippers, but nothing to store everything else in. I keep the oil and the brush in the medicine cabinet. I leave the one comb I use attached to the clippers. What to do with the other eight combs? Stick ‘em back in the box and store under the sink. I’m not going to be using them anyway. The charger goes in a drawer. It would have been nice to have a larger storage case that could hold everything.I feel the clippers are a little expensive, but I could find them cheaper no where else. If you’re interested and do find them cheaper then snap them up.Unlike those round clippers available that you drive around your head, (and look like they would take a finger off if you stuck it in there), you can use these clippers to do your neckline and trim around your ears. I understand that by using the different combs you can perform tapers and fades and such. I don’t do any of that and just stick with the one comb. I like to make life as easy as possible.Other than having nothing to store all the stuff in, I am 100% satisfied here. I’ll probably never pull out the other combs anyway. The clippers do a fine job. They won't do the job of a professional, but they do very well and at least I'll have the same haircut every time. Based on other reviews I won’t need the charger too often. The brush and oil will be handily in the medicine cabinet.I feel this one is a winner.Update: I've gotten much better handling this thing since I bought it. It has certainly paid for itself figuring $20 a haircut. I'm extremely happy with this hair clipper and wish I had found it sooner.

Well designed and great for travel
At first I wanted to give this 4 stars but changed to 5 for the reasons explained below. I purchased this after once again conducting a fruitless search for a dual voltage hair and beard trimmer to take overseas, as I didn't want to take a heavy converter in addition to the necessary plug adapters. I'm guessing that the reason it's difficult to find a dual voltage trimmer or razor is the 60MHz alternating current in the US versus 50 MHz in Europe (and probably many other places), thus causing problems with proper functioning of a trimmer/razor even if dual voltage because of the speed difference. I came to the conclusion that a battery operated trimmer was clearly the best option and this trimmer did indeed work very well.I returned only a few days ago from 2 months abroad traveling through Europe and used this trimmer for both my head and beard approximately every 5 to 7 days, as I keep both hair and beard closely cropped. Because it's not dual voltage, I did indeed need to take the voltage converter to charge the battery, but the trimmer itself is so small and convenient that it pretty much offset the minor inconvenience of packing the converter. For years I've been using a heavy duty Oster set of clippers that are downright awesome, with a powerful motor and self-sharpening blades that only intermittently require oiling. The motor in this Remington is clearly not as powerful as in the Oster, but the tradeoff is minimal size and weight. What this ultimately meant though is that the Remington worked best when fully charged, thus requiring recharging after every use. This is not really a big deal as it can be fully charged again in 15 minutes or so.Another result of the less powerful motor is that the Remington also works best if a light application of oil (included) is applied before every use. Again, this is not a big deal and the small oil bottle was quite easy to pack along.Functioning: I have to give this a 5-star rating because it is intended for trimming head hair (versus beard hair) and it did so with very minimal fuss, without throwing hair all over the place, trimmed evenly, rates extremely high on ease of use, and gets the job done efficiently and quickly. I'm impressed and now prefer it over my much more burley Oster clippers and I hope that it can last for years to come. It just makes the job so dang easy.Because it was the only set of clippers I took along to Europe, I had to make due with it for trimming my beard also. Frankly, I'm very happy with the results despite the design clearly not being optimized for that specific task. Once you do it a few times, you'll start getting very good, even results with little fuss. I should note that I do not have a goatee or other style that requires precision trimming. I simply needed my entire beard trimmed evenly and I was very happy with this trimmer's ability to do so despite the less than optimal design for doing so.Why did I almost give this 4 stars? Well, beard hair seems to give this trimmer more problems than head hair. I don't know if beard hair provides more resistance or what. But one change I made pretty quickly was to make sure I trimmed my beard first, when the clippers were fully charged, to avoid hairs getting caught/pulled, which is quite annoying. If the clippers were freshly oiled and fully charged, no hairs got caught or pulled. So I count that as a success. And I can't take away a star because the clippers don't necessarily perform optimally at something they weren't exactly designed to do in the first place. So the 5-star rating relates exclusively to the ease and and excellent usability when trimming head hair. I can conclusively say that I'm very happy to have found this well designed set of clippers. I'll update the review further if they develop any problems in the next year or so.

Works Great!
Ended up buying this for multiple people. Works really well, dot not pull the hairs and it is a good material. It is water proof and are able to use it in the shower or rinse it off. It leaves your skin feeling smooth for the most part. It seemed a little bit more heavy than I was thinking it was going to be, but it is a nice weight for the size and makes it easy to handle. The charge lasts for a really long time and have used it for a few months on the first charge. Would recommend to anyone!
