This TP-Link 4G LTE MiFi has been a solid bit of kit for me, going from a stand-in for home broadband to a faithful companion on cabin getaways. It's handled everything from demanding marketing and IT work with four devices connected to just streaming music for a couple of phones, and it's kept pace admirably.Speed and battery life are key here, and whilst it's 4G, it delivers a perfectly decent connection for my day-to-day tasks. Battery-wise, I'm looking at around seven hours, which is pretty good for a full day out, and the fact I can use it while it's charging is a definite bonus. Setting it up with a Smarty SIM was a doddle, and it holds its own for signal strength right alongside my mobile phone. There haven't been any faffy issues, and it's proved to be good value. While I'm eyeing up a future 5G upgrade for that extra bit of oomph, this 4G MiFi has been a reliable workhorse and a fuss-free way for me to stay connected, whether I'm working from home or chilling off-grid. It's a sound choice if you need portable internet without any unnecessary complications.

Excellent product for accessing WiFi at home when travelling - and overseas using local data SIM. A really convenient option. Wouldn't leave home without it!

A neat little device that does the job intended. Battery life is good and can also be used when plugged in.Performance wise, the range seems solid and is only mildly affected by walls. This is only 4G not 5G but that's reflected in the price.It does feel a little plasticy and doesn't scream premium but again I feel that is reflected in the price point.

Tp-link M700I wish people were clear and honest in their reviews. Prior to purchase I read Amazon’s and maybe 10 other peoples. If I’d read further down the list I’d have read one which highlighted the rubbish.Firstly, the instructions are poor to say the least. Inserting a SIM card is the most frustrating and awkward experience. The sim holder is so flimsy that tp-link provide a little piece of sticky tape to hold it in place, which I suppose is ok unless you intend to remove the card numerous times. The lights on the device indicating whether you have a WiFi connection or not don’t remain on so, if you’re unsure you have to keep pressing the button. Lastly, and most importantly, there are only a small number of network SIM cards that will work, Sky mobile doesn’t! Don’t even think of downloading tp-links config settings page unless you have a Masters in computer science………..It’s getting returned.

I purchased this to use when I go on holiday in my campervan.I have it set up on a Giff Gaff data-only rolling contract, so I top it up when I'm away from home & it seems to work very well. I use an iPad as my entertainment device when I'm on holiday, so far I haven't had any issues using this little MiFi device.It was pretty straightforward to set up & wakes up within a few seconds when it's switched on... I am very happy.

I've found that the claim of battery life lasting 15 hours is dependent upon low usage.If you using the router when travelling and spend a LOT of time on the Web, then have a powerbank or USB mains adapter handy and have a long USB cable handy. The micro-USB cable provided with the router is very short.GETTING THE BEST WiFi SIGNALIf using the TP-LINK M7450 for permanent 'home broadband' you will need to experiment to find the best location for the strongest signal.I use a small adjustible mobile phone stand and double-sided-sticky-tape to position the router in the perfect sweet spot at just the right angle.Using a broadband speed test App the router itself is working at 250mbps and my smartphone connection to the TP-Link M7450 is 46-54mbps.USE COMPATIBLE HARDWARETo get the best from this router your smartphone / laptop / tablet needs to have 4G compatible hardware. Why did you choose this product over others?:Reading reviews helped us to decide on this small mfi. It was very easy to set up (even for us 70+ technology stumblers!)We tested it by switching off home wifi and were able to immediately connect iPad and phones to it. We’ve since used it in our touring caravan and have stayed internet connected, using a data only sim. We can keep an eye on data usage through the TP-Link website. All in all we’re very pleased with this small piece of inexpensive equipment.
