Worked for years.

Set up the sim card in a phone, remove it from the phone and put it in the modem, connect the modem to a POE router or use the included adapter, and enjoy. I never had issues with orientation, but I've never tried to use it in a very remote location where the dish would be a gain.

Excellent with T-Mobile!

These are very much for technically minded individuals. I have been an IT / Network Engineer for over 10 years, so setup was easy. I had to get deep into the command line to change settings for TTL, etc. Overall it works great. I have a strong T-Mobile signal at home and regularly get over 60mbit down, 10mbit up. It makes a great backup to my Unlimited VDSL2 from Frontier that has issues from time to time. These are a great investment as a backup or primary connectivity mecahnism.

Do Not Buy if in USA!!

The Bands are for INT and most will not work in the States. You may get one band but it defeats the purpose of the LTE6 Dual Band speed. Wait for them to release the US version. Please update the listing with the Bands and a warning about using in the USA!

SIm card got jammed inside the slot

Bought this a while back.Been outside in the elements.Generally it function well. The learning curve was steep but I only used the basic function. Got a NAT'ed connection to 4G. Couldn't really do the bridge mode because it was too complicated. But what went downhill was when I tried to change the sim card. After about 1 ½ years outside the card wouldn't come out. So basically the unit turned into a brick afterwards. What a waste of money.

Good option for remote internet

If you have a reasonable (at least a couple bars) cellular signal, you can get this dish and a 4g tethering plan and connect your home network to it. I'm able to get a SINR of 17-20 without any trouble at all, and about 40 mbit synchronous speed. Several providers offer uncapped / unthrottled plans, although expect to pay a decent amount for them. If you want fast internet and you can't get cable this is a decent option.

Requires STANDARD (2FF) SIM card, not micro

The product appears to be typical MikroTik quality and design, and is in good working order. I'll update this review with some performance notes once deployed. I am writing this review to point out an error in the documentation and marketing literature: this product is equipped with a standard size (2FF) SIM card slot, not a micro (3FF) slot. I was confused as I watched my micro SIM slide back and forth down into an obviously-oversized SIM slot, and had to locate the appropriate bit driver to remove the main board from the housing to fish out the SIM. Placed in a 2FF adapter, the SIM card fits properly. I'm not sure how this slipped past MikroTik.UPDATE #1 -- I carried this out to a rural location in southwest Virginia where it will hopefully be permanently installed soon. I currently have a MikroTik SXT LTE KIT (US) out there which is shooting a signal reasonably well to a cell site believed to be somewhere between 12 and 16 miles away. AT&T uses bands 2 and 12/17 out there, so the loss of Band 4 compared to the SXT LTE (non-LTE6 version) isn't a big deal. Whereas the SXT LTE has a 60-degree beam width, the LHG LTE6 has a 25 degree beam width so it requires more patience with tuning, especially in my case where I really have no idea where the cell site is. Unfortunately, the LHG LTE6 I received shipped with old modem firmware which results in disconnects and lockups of the modem. I spent about 8 hours trying to find a signal where the SXT LTE had been performing reasonably well; the LHG LTE6 would find a signal and then drop it within a few minutes, after which it would refuse to search for any further signals (status "not searching") until the device was physically power cycled -- I'm not certain a simple RouterOS reboot was resolving this. I also found that the modem was not receptive to my requests to lock out certain bands; I believe it's because these commands were being sent while the modem was in a lockup condition. I have since learned of the defects in the earlier modem firmware; upgrade to working V25 (or better) is available using command (with Internet connectivity available to the LHG LTE6) "/interface lte1 firmware-upgrade lte1 upgrade=yes". Experimentation here at home shows the LHG LTE6 is now behaving as expected, so I'll be carrying it back out to the site next weekend and will provide further updates.
