It is a life saver.
This QuickLug Terminal Repair Kit kept me from having to replace a $750.0 compressor in my Goodman, model CLQ42-1 condensing unit. The terminal burned off to the common wire (C-T1) of the Copland, model ZR34K3-PFV-230 scroll compressor. The existing terminals on the other two posts (S-T2 and R-T3) were also corroded, burned and not in very good shape either. I broke them off them too, leaving just the three posts protruding out of the pressure plug on the compressor. I cleaned all three posts really well with a Dremel Moto-Tool and a cylindrical sanding bit, removing the melted glob of copper on the burned post and the remnants of the tac-weld on the other two posts. All were round, clean and shiny. I also cleaned the red rubber insulator really well with denatured alcohol to remove soot caused by the burned terminal. I installed the QuickLug Terminals according to the directions, except I didn't use the pigtails provided with kit because my compressor leads were much longer than the pigtails supplied and I didn’t like the idea of using the wire nuts to splice them to the existing leads exposing the connections to the weather. Instead; I installed, crimped and soldered new male spade ends on all three of my existing compressor leads. I used a Q-tip to put a small amount of dielectric grease on the inside of the lugs, male spade wire ends and the three posts to help prevent future corrosion. Shawn in the picture the red electrical marker tape wrapped around the three lugs was used to hold all three lugs together, keeping them aligned and making for easier installation in the confined space I had to work. I left the tape on them and didn’t remove it since it’s a good quality, 3M Scotch electrical tape. I modified the compressor terminal, plastic cover to accommodate the leads coming out straight instead of down as it was originally. I used JB Weld and a small piece of 1-1/2 PVC conduit to put a down-tilt on the exit from the cover. I sealed the cover with RTV where it contacts the side of the compressor to keep it water tight only on the top side. If any water did leak in I wanted it to go out the bottom. I also had to cut a hole in the insulation and sound-deadening boot that wraps around the compressor. The QuickLugs totally solved the problem and worked very well. The electrical connection actually looks better and more solid than the original factory connections. Note: Not trying to be a salesman but, I also installed a (5-2-1 Compressor Saver) to help reduce the in-rush current when the compressor starts. I thought that may help increase the longevity of those electrical connections to the compressor.

Great product- a/c saver
My nephew’s condo has a a/c unit that had a few years on it, and this summer the leads on the compressor burnt open, from service/age .Found this product and gave it a try. Being a electrician this was easy for me to install, and anyone with general DIY knowledge can use it.Very easy to install, well made and saved the day for my nephew’s HVAC. The HVAC service tech that initially checked out the unit sent pics of the damage to my nephew who sent them to me . The price of probably the SAME product he was going to use to repair the compressor leads and labor was crazy money. I was able to fix the compressor for a fraction of what the pros would have charged. If burnt/open leads on your A/C compressor occur and you are fairly handy , knowledgeable( and savvy with simple hand tools AND know how to turn off the power to the HVAC unit) this product will fix the problem and save loads of money with not needing a HVAC pro to do it.Highly recommend!

A True Life Saver
I purchased this kit when the spade connectors on my compressor were destroyed by a faulty capacitor. I was able to make the repair myself and save a ton of money. Several A/C repair guys came by to check my unit. Nobody wanted to repair it. They just pushed their new units. The old unit has been cooling all summer so far thanks to this repair kit. I can highly recommend having one of these on hand for emergencies.
