Surprisingly good and versatile
Due to a family member contracting Alpha-Gal, we've had to make some eating habit adjustments (Or as they've said, they were forced to go vegan..lol)So far this is the best shelf stable TVP we've tried. Tasting it dry out of the bag, it's very reminiscent of Grape-Nuts.Cooking-wise, this is some pretty good stuff with a decent protein macro. It's also relatively filling.Once cooked, it's very hamburger like in how it chews or it's mouth feel. Great for tacos and sloppy joes. While it doesn't quite taste like meat, it really is a good meat substitute.

a godsend for vegans
i could not more highly recommend TVP to those looking to add more protein to their diets. it's so easy to incorporate into anything you're eating (chilli, curries, rice dishes, soups/stews, etc), and truly you barely notice it. even if you did notice it, it's got such a mild flavor and you can soak it in broth or milk, whatever fits your recipe, to make it blend in easier. also, this bag will last you forever if you just put 1/2 cup TVP in whatever dish you're making. highly worth it

Versatile source of protein
I've used this TVP as an ingredient in veggie burgers (with beans). It's easy to add flavor by using seasoned broth or water to reconstitute the TVP. In the past I have also used it as an add-in for chili and soups. It doesn't have much flavor of its own. An internet search or AI question will readily come up with menu ideas and recipes. Note that this TVP is made of soy, so take that into consideration if you are allergic or otherwise concerned about soy.

nice alternative to hamburger in some recipies
I am not vegan or even vegetarian but I do sometimes like to make vegetarian tacos. This works perfect as a hamburger replacement. You can follow the recipe on the bag, or even just prepare it plain and use your normal taco seasoning as though it is browned hamburger. Most often I prepare it plain and use my favorite taco seasoning. Mix in a little extra cumin to balance out the flavor closer to meat. This also has a long shelf life which means you can have it ready to go for a quick meal.

Great taste
My vegan daughter recently made tacos using textured vegetable protein (TVP), and I was amazed at how delicious they turned out. Even though I'm not vegetarian, I could hardly tell the difference between the TVP and regular meat. The texture was spot-on, and it absorbed the flavors perfectly. It was incredibly easy to prepare too—just a little seasoning and cooking, and it was ready to go. It is now in my cabinet to use.

Good source of Protein
I add this to meat loaf and burgers to increase protein content. I hydrate in chicken or beef broth. A great product that I’ve used for years
