Best air stone I've ever had

There is a MASSIVE difference between standard air stones and nano air stones!! I was looking for a way to boost my root health and get bigger, thicker root balls. These do the trick!! Standard air stones will have a better air flow than nano stones, but nano stones increase dissolved oxygen in the water, and that's the entire point to all of this. I promise you if you're trying to step up your game, this is the secret weapon you've been after. I started to set this up and attached the air tubing. I quickly realized it would have been easier to route the tubing around something first so I tried to take it off and the nipple on the stone just snapped right off. Good thing it came two to a pack, right? Wrong! The second one wouldn't work when attached to the pump. Returning.

The media could not be loaded. Giving 4 stars only because the tubing absolutely sucks. It gives barely any airflow and made it seem like it was defective. After using tubing from one of my other tanks that had some excess.. I hooked it up with this airstone and it started to work ONLY after I put a control “switch” in the tubing. One side pumps out too much air if it’s on high. I have it in a 20 gal tall for extra oxygen for my plants, and it works good. Definitely has lighter gentle bubbles than my disc air stones I have in my Axolotl tanks.If you buy this, definitely purchase better quality tubing and a control switch to control the amount of airflow from the air pump.

I'm using it on the back wall of a 15gal 24"-tall hexagonal tank instead of a cheesy printed and taped-on backdrop. Very dramatic moving wall of bubbles with the extra tank height and can be quite hypnotic if you stare at it for long. Each side of the hex is eight inches and the stone fits perfectly between the angles. Doesn't gurgle like a regular air stone, it makes more of a "SHHHHHH".Does a great job of oxygenating the water, I have bottom dwellers (plecos) and have never seen them dash to the top to gulp surface air. I put a large oval rock on the edge of the airstone to hold it in place.This air stone requires more air pump pressure to work properly as a bubble wall. I am using it with a Tetra Whisper Air Pump for 100gal tanks and it really does the job. I am using it for all three of my tanks and removed two smaller pumps altogether.

Just ok. Product seems very fragile and may have been damaged during shipping. We'll see if the replacement works any better.There is a hairline crack across the middle where large air bubbles escape and prevent uniform smaller bubbles along the full length. I set a piece of coral over the crack which helps disperse the air bubbles.

Just what I needed for my small pond. Bubbles diffuse wonderfully.

I ordered 2 of these. The 'intake' was broken off on 1 of them even though the package had not been opened. It would cost $9 to return an $8 item so I lost $8, a sizable amount for a senior citizen on a below poverty level income. Avoid buying this item.
