Cuts through the fat on a tri-tip like a hot knife through butter.This is the best knife I've ever used. Almost bought a diff $20 knife until someone in the reviews said it was crap and this one was better. This knife has been amazing.I bought a $5 honing rod on here to keep the sharp edge aligned, I don't know if it works, but I've never had this blade not be more than sharp enough.The handle is a NICE large size, even for small hands, doesn't slip at all unlike wood handles or smooth plastic handles.Very easily passes the 'paper test' right out of the box.I don't leave many reviews, so I guarantee you if you buy this knife you won't be disappointed.I've used it to skin salmon, cut the fat off the edges of steaks, and trim tri-tips (it's most impressive feat, as I don't like fat on the outside, I like to make em with a nice crust).Before this trimming a tri-tip took me about 20mins, with this it takes me 3-5 depending on the cut.I love this knife. Would recommend to anyone. Try it, and if you're disappointed return it and downvote me lol. I hardly ever leave reviews but this company definitely deserved one.

This is one of those knives that I think everyone should have in their kitchen. Only second to a good chef knife, this Dexter is perfect for working with proteins. Whether you're slicing chicken breast, trimming leg of lamb, or shaping a brisket for a long smoke, this is pretty much the perfect blade shape. The price is hard to beat, and it sharpens well, and stays sharp with a few strokes on a steel between uses.

Originally from Texas and still like to smoke briskets, pork spare ribs, etc. This boning knife makes quick work of any pre-smoker prep. Holds an edge well but you will need to hone regularly and sharpen once in a while to keep it tip-top.

I already have a mix of Basics & Sani-Safe for my workhorses right now, so it is okay that it is a Basics & not a Sani-Safe. If you want Sani-Safe only, this is a Basics knife. The knife is nice & has moderate flex. Comes sharp & ready, like all Dexter knives. It is a decent knife at a good price, just is NOT sani-safe (look at the picture, the handle is different & different tone of white. Packaging comes blatantly labeled “BASICS” as well - it is not sani-safe). I will keep it & am overall happy with the purchase, because I have a few other Basics series small knives that I am happy with as well.

Ordered this knife primarily for preparing meat for bbq. Have used this to cut a whole chicken, as well as ribs and it cuts very well. Additionally, it’s easy to hold as it feels substantial while not heavy in your hand. Good value and product.

Awesome knife but I wished they'd supply it with a Sheath. Found a 3D printed one on Etsy that works great.
