Won’t pop your breaker and it’s warm.

I got REALLY excited, when I saw this heater on Amazon. Theoretically it is REALLY what doctors ordered when people are seated around a table with umbrella in the Middle. In SoCal we have that happening year-round, but the temperatures do drop to "chilly" 40s, so a heater would come truly handy. However, when I installed it at about 6 ft height and sat on a chair directly in front o f 1 of the "petals", I almost did not feel any heat. Maybe it is good for like sunroom where it can heat up the space and keep it warm. But it is just not enough for eve slightly chilly night outdoor. Definitely returning

5 stars out of 5We have this on the patio by our hot tub. It helps to keep us warmer when we have to move from the tub to the back door, especially in the dead of winter! This plugs in, is VERY warm, and lasted us through a winter with no issues. The amount of radiated heat is customizable and this certainly makes cold winter nights more bearable. My husband has also used this in his garage with great success.This is worth the price. I can recommend this.

As I am writing this review the price for this patio heater is 70 dollars even. Good price in my opinion for what you get. So what do you get.. You get to stay outdoors longer than you would without it, lol. Seriously though you get a well built 3 bladed infrared heater. There are sort of 3 heat settings.. You can have 1 blade on, two blades on, or all three blades on at one time. There are no other heat settings. The blades are 16 inches in length and 4 inches wide. It comes with a heavy duty 7 foot grounded 3 prong plug. It can be used indoor or outdoor. The center hole pole clamp will accept up to a 2 inch diameter pole, obviously pole not included. It gives off a half descent amount of heat and a nice orange glow for ambience as a bonus. For 80 dollars it works perfectly to take the chill off a spring or fall evening, and is dead silent. What else can you ask for. I hope this helps in your decision making.

As others have mentioned, there is no pole with this.Setting this up on your umbrella pole would be best done with two people as it isn’t the lightest.I’d start with attaching it to the umbrella low down close to the table and with something soft underneath it first to test that a) you have tighten it enough so it doesn’t slip down, and b) your umbrella will handle the weight. If that’s all but then raise it up. I’d make sure to pay attention to the instructions and keep the proper distance from the umbrella as the heater does get hot. I think I’d be cautious sitting under this the first time and maybe try it at height without turning it on first then with it on but not under it and with a hand on the cord to unplug it quickly in case you think your umbrella might be getting too hot. Better safe than sorry.We have another horizontal heater which sits on a stand. We like this as you don’t need to be directly under it. We tried this on the stand and it held it, but we couldn’t angle the heater to give some direction to the heat, it is always just down. As a result I think the horizontal heater is a better product.If you have a strong umbrella stand and a tall umbrella then this is a decent product. It is currently on under 50% of the sticker price which is reasonable. For full price I think I’d look at other options. There’s just a couple of extra risks with this one that give me pause.
