Silverline Hardwood Sledge Hammer 10lb

Really impressed on all counts. I needed something to break up a thick concrete base around a rotting fence post, but couldn’t afford to spend much. This broke through the base with ease with a number of well aimed swings from about waist height. It’s heavy, but for anyone with reasonable strength (I’m a 55 year old man who doesn’t work out) it’s manageable. For me the weight was necessary to get the job done, which it did perfectly. The base broke apart and could then be removed in small chunks of rock. Really solid, and great value for money. Happy to recommend.

I consider this a fantastically good sledge hammer. Its solid with a good weight. The handle gives a good grip for swinging when it matters most. It arrived very quickly and packaged well. The price is very fair and free postage is a winner every time for me. Of course I won't be using it because at this point I couldn't swing a stick but hubby can't wait to find a reason to slam it into something. If you need a sledge for general use out in the garden, I'd highly recommend this one.

It done the job , knocking down a shed and some old fencing , quite heavy so an elderly or infirm person may struggle to lift it but fit for purpose.

Of all the 10lb hardwood sledgehammers I have ever bought, this is the best. I am considering buying another to keep nice, without the scuffs and scratches you get through use. Aesthetically this is a beautiful bit of kit, smooth hardwood, which is in sharp contrast to hard cold steel at the very end. But seriously it's 10lb and hammer shaped and the cheapest I found available.Enjoy

Bought this to do some pretty heavy demolition in the garden (A number of walls, patio and concrete base) and its been faultless.Just the right weight to do some serious damage without being fatiguing to use. I'm far from a professional so a few missed swings have resulted in me catching the stone with the handle, and it has held up very well.The long handle also helps you to achieve a good degree of power in each swing.If this were to break I'd order another without hesitation.
