Easy to fit🖥
his is a well designed mount for a monitor or small TV.It fits a variety of screens with standard a standard VESA mount. This monitor arm clamps to the back of a desk. It has a brilliant spring system which works much like an angle-poise lamp. Move the monitor into a preferred position and it just stays in place. There's a good cable management system to make sure wires don't get trapped or tangled. When you are assembling it you do need to be careful of the powerful inner spring. The instructions do provide a clear warning that undoing the velcro retainer needs to be done carefully to stop you being damaged.Little rubber pads are supplied that you attach to the mounting clamp, so that it is stable and doesn't damage your desk.

Not quite universal movement and won't suit all monitor types
Excellent for adjustability to cope with a range of weights of monitor, excellent for ease of installation, excellent for ease of use including in/out positioning, forward/back tilt, rotate (360 degree) and left/right (horizontal plane) twist. Not so great for left/right/up/down positioning; it does it but, as the lower-arm-to-base joint does not rotate in the same plane as the upper-arm-to-lower-arm joint (as would be achievable by an old Standard lamp), moving the monitor up means also having to move it left (or right, depending on whch way round you've fitted the whole assembly to your desk), while moving the monitor down also means having to move it right (or left etc.,etc.).Regards the movement mechanism, to be fair, it doesn't claim to be universal, and is listed as "Single-arm". In other words, it does exactly what it says on the tin, and does it excellently well. It just seems a bit pointless buying a monitor mount with the abovementioned limitation, unless you're very laid back and can cope with it. This is the kind of mount you'll be given at work, if you haven't already, rather than a truly universal one. Finally this also requires that your monitor be of the type with a central mounting point. We had 2 monitors to choose from in the house and only the older one had this. The one we bought only a couple of years ago did not have one and instead has a base mount point with which this arm cannot engage. So check your monitor mount first before buying.

What Does This Mount Amount To?
First, a safety warning: I reiterate the advice given in the instructions - this monitor arm is under pressure and WILL spring back with a certain degree of force when released from its constraining binding. Now, having safely removed the arm from the box, let's take a closer look.At 2.7kg (5lbs 15oz) it is as weighty as one would expect a metal and plastic gas-powered monitor mount would be - and needs to be - but is not unwieldy for a person of average strength and health. The retaining clamp opens sufficiently widen to fasten onto anything with a width up to 7cm (2.75") and the screwhole locations for mounting the monitor offers the standard and the next most common variant arrangement.Along with instructions, all of the various screws, pads and Allen Keys necessary to set up are included, but I didn't see the necessity of having the different sizes of Allen key; locating and switching tools for no apparent reason is irksome. I found that out of the box all the joints were randomly either too stiffer or loose, requiring me to adjust them all to give it both the required combination rigidity and fluidity of movement to get the monitor in position once affixed. Once in the required position it was further tightened to keep it there. The arm and its components and the tools were all of good quality and adjustments could be made with relative ease (further accessibility depending on how it is positioned of course).I affixed a 19" monitor and ran TV and laptop through it, then swapped that out for a 27" monitor - which has remained there since - and it has remained solid as a rock with not a centimetre of "droop" or lateral movement since final positioning.I find that even with the combined weight of monitor and mount it is quite feasible to leave the monitor attached when moving the mount arm to a different location. It takes only a few minutes to transfer the whole thing to a patio or to a bedroom and set up with the laptop.I'd often thought a monitor mount would be useful, but I knew I wouldn't want one permanently bolted onto a wall, so this really is an ideal solution. the range of movement allows me to position it so I can actually utilise multiple monitors with ease, and most of the mount not being visible from my viewpoint it makes the monitor appear to be floating in the air - and I no longer have to leave my desk and my work to watch TV!This really is one of those items that I've found to be more useful than I would ever have anticipated. If you need something to keep your monitor held in place without any DIY work to your walls, or you haven't sufficient space for your monitor or need multiple monitors, this mount would be an excellent solution.n.b. I would just say that if one is somewhat infirm and lacking physical strength, assistance may be required - as the arm needs to hold a monitor safely and securely it necessarily needs some pretty firm tightening!

Does The Job
This HFTEK - Monitor Mount comes ready to go straight out of the box. It couldn't be simpler to use either. The arm fixes to my work station via the clamp , which works brilliantly. It grips very firmly with no slipping. Likewise the four screw holes at the rear of my monitor lined up perfectly with the holes on the plate at the top of the mount arm. Once fixed the arm is really good. Its just the job, holding the screen steadily just where I want it. Again no drooping or twisting. But with no effort at all I can push or pull it, or raise or lower it. Its like its floating in air. I have it in my music studio and I find it so convenient to just be able to move the monitor around to where I want it and at the angle I need it depending on what I'm doing. It all moves around very smoothly and silently too.
