Calypso Basics by Reston Lloyd 5 Quart Enamel-on-Steel Colander, Large, Red

Amazon asks too soon on some of these items, so we can GUESS that it LOOKS durable, well made, and priced well. We had one like this, not this brand, so a replacement. Our OTHER one rusted after a few years. THIS one appears made better than that one (and only a little bit more expensive). I needed one this smaller size (ordered another one and it was too big, but will keep that, too). LOVELY colour, too, ;0)

Colander is just the right color for my kitchen. Arrived quickly and was packaged appropriately. Love it!!!

I received the small 3-qt the other day and have yet to use it, but it’s incredibly well made, surprising heavy, sturdy, and with a perfect enamel coating. Next I’ll order the 5-qt, which used to be the standard size, for when I have company, need to bring a dish elsewhere, or to hold either fruits or vegetables, as it’s very nice looking.

Product arrived damaged (scratched handle) due to poor packaging (only an Amazon plastic bag). Contacted Amazon and they made it right. Purchased this once before and it is very sturdy. Like that there are no rivets on the inside for the handles. Great product.

I actually ordered two, one 5qt and one 3qt in different colors - because I am bad at math, I assumed they'd be smaller than they actually were. The 5qt turquoise one was laughably HUGE, and unfortunately, mine chipped during the first use and the enamel came off around the handle. I believe it was probably damaged in shipping, but I returned it because I knew it was going to get worse, and I didn't want enamel in my food. The 3qt arrived separately, and it was intact and works well. The pink color is a touch odd - maybe more mauve than pink? Anyhow, it strains things, which is the job, and it has a nice foot and easy to grab handles. The turquoise color was stunning, and I am sad that mine broke - the 5qt would make a great fruit bowl or colander for a large family. I might order it again, as I really think it was a fluke. They are not the best made enamel I've ever seen, but the price was right! And the metal rim covering, which aesthetically I didn't love, actually helps prevent chipping, so that's a plus.

Very nice little colander. The colors are just what I was looking for, a nice saturated red. Just a warning though, I've had these before and you have to be very careful about drying them off thoroughly after washing. If you don't, it will rust underneath and the paint will begin to bubble up.

Wanted a small colander for the counter. This is the perfect size. And it comes in several colors so I was able to get one that goes with my kitchen. Really like this!
