Great compromise for an 8yr old girl with a 12th grade reading level.
My 8yr old reads at a 12th grade level. This makes finding books for her a little difficult. Books in her reading level are usually not appropriate or interesting for a girl her age. Yet the books that are lower in level but written for her age she loves, but will blow through them in a half hour. The Kingdom Keepers were recommended and I have to say that they are great. A good balance for keeping her interest and enjoyably challenging. We have recommended the series to some others who were in the same boat with their kids. We all had the same experience of the start of the first book was rather slow for them. The character development and setting the stage for the series took a while for kids with an 8yr old attention span. Some kids even wanted to give up on it. But then once they got into the meat of the book, the excitement took off. My daughter couldn't wait to get the next book and is now looking forward to the next already. It's great! So, if you have the same situation as we do, I would suggest maybe reading the first few chapters with them or encourage them to keep going with the first book. After that they will just eat it up!My only issue maybe that she now wants to go to Disney world stat! This book series may prove to become quite expensive! Haha!

A great Family Read
Now in schools it is a requirement for kids to read 20 minutes every night at home. This series is great because its something a parent and child can read together and have that "us" time without the distractions of everyday things. The books are entertaining and draw you and your child in! I hate putting it down at night because I want to see what happens next!On the flip side, there are times in the book where it can seem to drag on with the many tiny details about surroundings and what the characters are wearing and I seem to not have my sons attention during those times. I do tend to skip over much of that to get to what is really happening in the story. The younger kids will enjoy the book--but honestly don't care about all the small details.

Holographic Disney
Great series. Can’t wait to see if my grandsons ask me to buy more from the series. Students at my school kept them checked out with a waiting list!

So so
I feel the fantasy characteristics of the story were inhibited or fenced in by what might be called the Disneyverse (as apposed to omniverse). It seemed like a book that Disney asked someone to write rather than an original idea that was allowed license to explore the many possibilities.... I would have liked to see more in depth world building to make certain elements more plausible - such as the nightly transformation into a sentient hologram. A laserscan mixed with a computer program does not explain the resulting out-of-body crossover of consciousness into a hologram where the body is mostly present (yet still in bed back home) unless focused effort is made to separate the physical from the meta physical. Some unanswered questions kept bothering m: if their conscienceness is always active (24x7) for days and weeks, how are they able to function during daylight hours (normal life)? Why just one Disney Imagineer? What function do the holographic characters serve during daylight hours that makes them so spectacularly popular?Elements that were used to drive the store (tension), seemed overused. I became bored very quickly.

Ahhhhhh! I love it.. ..need more.. lol.
Five ordinary kids around 14 years old in the beginning. DISNEY WORLD. Holograms. Fighting against impossible odds. Disney Villains. Friendships and Infatuation. I'm twitterpaited. add in 2 foster care 'sisters' and it only gets better. Worried parents. Mind puzzling, brain twisting, problems. Amazingly smart kids. These books could easily become movies, they are so well written. I'd say everyone young and old. Read it with friends see who can figure out the brain teasing clues first.

Loved by my 12 year old son!
These books have been enjoyed by and kept the attention/interest of my 12 year old son! We are taking his first trip to disney world later this year and I thought that these would be fun to read before he goes.

Wife’s collection
I liked that it was a box set. My wife has read a book, but needed the first book. When I saw this set of three I knew she would be thrilled.

Great series for any Disney fan
Excellent series. Both my daughter an I are hooked. I have never been to Disney World but feel I can see every location easily and know right where the Keepers are. Love the reality of the Villains. You feel that their personalities are just as they would be if they had come to life. They are not you roaming cast-members character. I am sure any Disney fan would love this series.

Brilliant value
Excellent value for money - my son asked for these books and it was cheaper to buy this boxed set rather than the individual books. He absolutely loves these books and now wants the rest of the series.
