Essentially Thai: Spirit House Hardcover – May 1, 2010

This book is fabulous. There are recipes that are not too difficult - some are and have dozens of ingredients - but there are lots in there that are fairly easy to make without using hundreds of ingredients and taking forever. I live in Australia and have visited the Spirit House restaurant in Noosa. The food is magnificent and the ambience is number one (little streams running through the gardens beside the tables - it's really lovely. The restaurant is very well known and highly regarded so it makes sense their cook books live up to their name.

I am an Aussie living in the UK and I really miss my favourite restaurant, The Spirit House. I ordered this plus two other of their cookbooks to try to recreate a little bit of this amazing restaurant at home. The seller despatched all of the books really quickly and the delivery price was amazing (£10!) consider it was being sent to the UK. I have already cooked one recipe out of this book and it was a total winner! It is full of exciting recipes that I can't wait to make!

This is an AWESOME cook book. Beautiful pictures, and even tastier food! Some of the ingredients can be hard to source, but if you do, you won't be disappointed I can assure you!!

I have a large collection of Thai cookery books, its a passion!. I have to say that "Essentially Thai" is by far the best of all the books I have, its just superb! The recipes are authentic Thai, simple to construct and the end results are just splendid. The book is well structured, covering the usual categories of stir-fries, curries, Seafood etc. It is also very well illustrated with copious colour pictures. Try the Seafood Dumplings in Green Curry with Dill and wild ginger and you will be hooked......a truly fantastic book.

A very detailed description of all ingredients and how they work. The book is clear and well assembled. A definite for the bookshelf, though mine spends a lot of time on the counter top!
