Yes, I have my setup the same way and it’s working great. The only thing, if your monitor supports anything higher than 144hz, you will not reach anything higher than that, 144hz. Other than that, I would recommend grabbing one of these switches.

No, this is a displayport switch. You'd need a USC-C switch with 2 USB-C inputs and 1 USB-C output. Don't know we if Amazon sells any but try searching for it.
