Adobe InDesign CS6 On Demand 0002- Edition

I purchased this book for further self-instruction and have been returning to it whenever I use InDesign as a reference - I don't it regularly which is why I'm glad I still have the book! The book is also good for later versions, though you have much more functionality with later versions.

We're migrating from Quark Xpress to InDesign and needed a good reference/help book. One of my assistants purchased this and after a couple of days I bought one for the office. Very helpful and easy to use.

I really needed a detailed explanation on how to use InDesign, and this book covers EVERYTHING! I highly recommend it.

As a beginner user of InDesign, I was looking for a book that would help me get started with the program and from reading the book description I expected to be able to follow the book in a step-by-step format which would explain how to get started with the program and actually create documents. But unfortunately this is not the case.The book is not written for beginners and is more a reference book. I expect it is most likely a good reference book but I'm not even sure of that because I'm still trying to figure out how to get started making a document.To be fair, I did read some of the reviews before I purchased the book so I was aware there were several reviews that mentioned that the book was not great for beginners, but there were also several reviews that said it would be a good book for beginners. So although I thought I made an informed decision when I purchased the book, I'm a beginner who found the content to be nothing like what I expected and ended up thoroughly confused and frustrated. The downloadable content was no help either, just a bunch of files - and if there is any information about how to use these files, I can't find it.Once I figure out how to get started with InDesign hopefully I'll be able to use this book.

Very helpful book- easy to find things in the index and go directly to the page for what you need!

This book is a reference, and when you are taking a class, or after a class, or if you need a refresher, this is the book to get.

Love the reference and could not do without it. Easy to follow and an round great resource. Very clear examples and useful as a reminder of less often used elements

I purchased this book when I took a class on InDesign. I like it because it is easy to use, has lots of pictures and step-by-step instructions.
