9100 PRO in a GEN 3 Slot is still Blazing Fast
Wanted to upgrade my older system (PCIE gen 3) with the best Samsung NVME available which I can reuse when I eventually upgrade to a new systemEven in a gen 3 system this is still the fastest NVME possible with the fastest IOPS and small file size transfer speeds which is what is important for real world performanceI've attached a screenshot comparing it to a 970 EVO (Gen 3 nvme) and it surpassed it in every metric. I'm actually CPU limited in random read IOPS as my CPU gets pegged at 100%!!! Even if you have an older system and want the best of the best get the 9100 Pro, it won't disappoint!

Blink and you’ll miss it
Expensive but incredibly fast. I’ll start off by saying I mainly got this as storage for gaming and wanted to dish out for the latest fastest SSD on market. Well this does not disappoint and boot time/games are lightning fast. I originally had a cheaper off brand SSD and could immediately tell a difference. Price wise though the 990 pro is probably the better deal, but I have no regrets picking up the 4TB version to expand my game library. I have a 2TB 990 pro I use as a second storage now and the samsung magician app migrates everything with ease.

I am a believer
This thing is amazingly fast. We know it. I put it into a Strix Scar and it's running cooler without the heat sink than the boot drive with it having a heat sink. The only thing I wish is that they'd go back to multiples of 1024 to determine disk capacity instead of straight up 2000 equally two terabytes. It's not two terabytes as *I* think of a terabyte. I could have gone for a cheaper option, but Samsung drives have never gone bad on me and I know that it will last. It's worth the money for me.

VERY FAST M2
Extremely fast M2 disk.Make sure to have an available PCIE 5.0 lane, otherwise it won't work as fast as it should.I've been using Samsung M2 disks for nearly 10 years, I'm a power user, and none of my EVO or Pro M2 disks have failed.I expect this one to not fail as well.

Fast, reliable, 8TB version to be released later in 2025
First, this is a PCIe 5.0 x4, not PCIe 4.0. It will work fine on PCIe3.0 and PCIe4.0, but you may want to consider a cheaper version if you don’t have a newer system as you will likely be somewhat limited - if not due to the link speed, then due to the power of your CPU, which is likely to be slower on PCIe 3.0 and PCIe 4.0 systems. Should you get this or stick to Samsung 9xx Pro? Depends how important money is to youNote that Samsung states that an 8TB version will be released later in 2025. Some may want to wait for that depending on their use

Fast with room to spare.
Running this in my Ryzen 9950X3D/MSI RTX 5090 system. Hitting the advertised speeds which are blazing fast. Expensive but if you need this kind of speed, worth the price.

Good, but not the best gen 5 ssd
I have two Crucial T705 drives, and now this Samsung 9100. I'm running Fedora 42, and while the Samsung gets the same crazy fast read speeds as the T705, it gets only roughly half the speed on sequential write (using kdiskmark). This is somewhat disappointing, although I don't really notice the difference even in large builds.Pros:These drives are in stock in 4TB size, while the T705 is still scarce.Great read speed in a gen 5 slot. It's Samsung.Cons:Slower on writes than the T705.

It's awesome!
I can confirm this product is genuine. I would suggest if Samsung Magician doesn't detect the drive as genuine, to update to the latest version 8.x. I was initially bummed out because Samsung Magician Ver. 7 detected this memory as 'unrecognizable' but after updating, it detected and confirmed the serial # was genuine. Also, if you're on windows 11 and can't open Samsung Magician, add --no-sandbox to the end of the desktop shortcut like this → "C:\Program Files (x86)\Samsung\Samsung Magician\SamsungMagician.exe" --no-sandbox
