Thank Dethklok I survived listening to this album...
In a recent scientific study 99.98% of people listening to Dethalbum II die... instantly... in a bloody explosion. Survival rate after initial exposure is nominal as long as you head bang constantly. As for the album:- Nathan Explosion graces us with some high pitched growls. Probably the most common cause of instant deth associated with listening to the album.- Skwisgaar makes "demonically fast" seem like "unicornally slow" with his supreme command of a guitar. My fingers bleed just listening to the album.-Not sure if Toki even plays on this album.-Murderface made all sandwiches that were consumed during the making of this album and it really shows. He makes a brutal sandwich.-Pickles never disappoints. What he lacks in hair he makes up in 16th note double bass pedal beats. As for the bonus DVD:Sure we don't get bonus songs but we must be thankful for what Dethklok did give us. A whole set of brutal music videos. These contain original animations that were never shown on Metalocalypse. Murmaider, Hatredcopter and Thunderhorse are extremely brutal. The Murmaider music video is the single most brutal and amazing video my eyes have ever seen.As for the songs:-Bloodlines: Gets you really hooked into the album. If you don't feel like you've been punched in the stomach after listening to this song you must be some kind of God.-The Gears: Just when you thought you could get a break from the metal think again. By now your neck should start getting sore.-Burn The Earth: The solo in this song demands air guitaring. Only your worthless hands will be able to only match 2% of the notes.-Laser Cannon Deth Sentence: The main riff of this song is brutal.-Black Fire Upon Us: The slowest song on the album. This will probably be your local high school's slow dance song for all of the school dances.-Dethsupport: most people must be put on life support at this point in the album... therefore the appropriate song title.-The Cyborg Slayers: My only complaint about this song is that my ears are not efficient enough to hear all of the notes during the solo. Hopefully my cyborg masters will give me a cybernetic implant...-I Tamper With The Evidence At The Murder Site Of Odin: Valhalla recently gained the rights to use this song for their alarm clocks to get everyone in a killing mood first thing in the morning.-Murmaider II: The Water God: Sequel? Check. Brutal? Check. Shredding? Check. Metal? Check. Mermaid? Check. Murder? Check.-Comet Song: What can be more brutal than a fiery deth from above.-Symmetry: This song carries us to the end of the album with a brutal riff... making us feel like we've been chopped into two perfectly symmetrical pieces.-Volcano: If you've made this far into the album you're doing pretty good. Don't let your guard down because you could very well die before listening to the entire album. Brutal end to a brutal album. If you've made it through a listen, repeat over and over into oblivion.

Seriously what is all the whining about!?
Ok first off having been a metalhead for over 2 decades let me get my 2 cents in...this is a far better album than the 1st in every extent....it has far more technicality, musical quality, sound quality and personality. Nathan's new vocal approach may be different as it never debuted till just now but it's a welcome addition in my eyes and gives the songs it makes it more feeling and far more personality....while I did kind of look down at the fact there were no bonus tracks or live photage I will not take away from the final score of this because all in all you get something more than the original album for a mere 2 dollars more...a DVD with 12 music videos on it for which is mostly quite interesting....with full length videos for Dethklok classics like "Thunderhorse" and "Mermaider"....it's a welcome addition but 2 extra songs and live photage would've been better still....ok back to the cd it starts off with the Sepultura sounding "Bloodlines" a good mid tempo song with a memorable guitar rythm that'll stick in your mind for awhile yet....then you have "The Gears" my personal fave song on the cd with it's catchiness intact and headbanging beat.....then followed by great tracks "Burn the Earth" the incredibly fast "Laser Cannon Deth Sentence" and the hauntingly good "Black Fire Upon Us"...followed by the other tracks and really showing no weakness with a few slower songs towards the end....but all in all this a far more technical and musicall diverse album than the 1st Dethalbum as memorable as it was....Dethklok has evolved from funny cartoon metal band to a serious real life metal band on this album....Dethalbum II has more of everything the first had minus the humor...the songs are more complex, harder hitting and have way more personality....sure some can't get past Nathan's new approach but personally this fan loves it and I think most fans will...IT STILL SOUNDS LIKE DETHKLOK JUST WITH MORE PERSONALITY AND FAR MORE BRUTALITY...a 5 star album hands down.

Ummm no! Get the deluxe!!!
I have to disagree with the majority of the reviews on here in saying that the "Deluxe Edition" is more than worth the extra money. All of the music videos have never before seen animated footage created in the themes of the original clips shown during the regular episodes. They do use most of those clips but these are fully extended full animation videos for the entire song, so its not like they just took clips from the episodes and re-arranged them to stretch the animation out for the full length of the song. There is plenty of new footage here.True it's missing the promised bonus tracks and the videos are indeed to the album versions of each song represented (which is a slight downer) but it doesn't detract from the enjoyment of watching the fully realized videos for each song!I will agree with everyone else in that this album is MUCH better than the first. Better sound all around, better playing and better writing. This album can be summed up in two words: Utter Brutality! Any self respecting Klokateer should not be caught dead without this totally un-dildos Dethklok CD/DVD in their collections! Now if we can just get them to do a re-issue of the original Dethalbum Deluxe I'd be a happy man!Make Facebones proud of ya! BUY IT!! BUY IT!! BUUUUY IIIIIT!
