Works!!
"Excellent product! I used it on a knife I’ve had for 4 to 5 years, which had jagged edges and was extremely dull. After sharpening, it now slices through paper like butter. I’m genuinely impressed with the results!"

The only rolling knive sharpener.
THIS is the one that's a German engineered brand. Everything else is a pretender. This is also the entry level of their available knife sharpeners, and the more expensive ones are the ones that get higher in quality and options. If you just need something to sharpen your knives with, this'll do it.

Excellent system for most people
I am a knife sharpening junkie. The good:This is the easiest to use, most precise way to achieve a constant sharpening angle, which any sharpenine junkie will tell you is 95% of the battle. I am really impressed with the ease of use and would recommend this system to anybody who doesn't want to make a career, or at least a sincere hobby, of sharpening. I sharpened several kitchen knives and they are indeed very sharp but more importantly, the process is just about foolproof. The other:I was hoping it would come with a few disks of different abrasive grits. One of the best sharpening systems I've used is the Wasabi system. It is a pain in the butt to set up, and it is more difficult to use, (but NOT super difficult), and it takes a little more skill to maintain a super consistent sharpening angle. But it comes with diamond stones up to 3000 grit, and after stropping, my knives consistently come out "sharp enough to shave". I sharpened 4 knives today with my new HORL-3 - using the same process for each - remove the black marker, smooth with the stainless disk, ,strop on leather - 2 sides, 1 charged with white, one with green. One knife came out sharp enough to shave - the other 3, not quite.Again, I think this is an outstanding system because it is so easy to sharpen at a consistent angle. Highly recommended to people who aren't as obsessed as me. If you simply included interchangeable discs and included a finer grit disk, I would give it five stars, but today I'm only giving it four.

Awesome sharper set
Picked this up after looking at other brands that were copies of the original. Love it. I never knew how dull my blades were until I maintained them with this. The magnet is strong and makes the sharpening fool proof. It is small enough to fit in the drawer, yet big enough to hold a chef knife with no problem. It’s so simple to use, it’s wild. Put knife in magnet. Run wheel along blade. Do both sides. Done. This set works great, saves time, refreshes your cutlery, and restores to joy of letting your knife do the work

It works
Easy to use. Though it may take more time to get a keen edge on your cutlery. I like it.

Maybe excellent for a beginner.
I've watched the Horl sharpener since it's launch. If I were only reviewing it for materials and construction I'd give it a 5, but sadly I'm returning it. I just don't care for the coarseness on this particular model. My knives, of all sizes and shapes, aren't profoundly dull, and this model's sharpening side is too coarse. In addition, the design, for me, won't work well on very thin boning and filet knives, and deep bellied pocket knives. It's best suited for 6" and longer chef's knives. It won't replace any of the other sharpening methods I currently own. The pricier models that have interchangeable sharpening discs are interesting, but too expensive given the limited range of blade sizes they're good for. Awesome German craftsmanship. I am thinking of buying their scissors. It's just not the be-all and end-all of sharpener designs.
