Just buy it.
If you want to have a guided conversation with your child about sex that’s direct, true and faith based, this is your answer. This made the talk so easy. My daughter is ten.

Perfect amount of information without being too detailed
I got this book for my 5 year old and 8 year old boys, and I'd say it's perfect for that age group. It's presented from a Christian perspective on family. The information is presented clearly and simply, and doesn't go into much detail on sexuality, just the mechanics of making a baby in the simplest terms for younger children to understand and (hopefully) not be weirded out by (haha). If you're looking for information on teaching your kids about sexuality, this is not it. I highly recommend this book for starting the conversation!

This was exactly what we were looking for. My boys (8 and 10) were asking on separate occasions for detailed information. (How does the baby get in there? How does it come out?) We had given high level answers for long enough that they were satisfied with, but started to get that there had to be more to the picture. I wanted to make sure that we taught accuracy from a developmentally appropriate place, and with Biblical backing. This truly was perfect. We just explained that this was something that families like to talk about together, and different families decide when is the right time to talk about it with their children. So, although it's not a secret, we don't want to talk about it with other kids at school because their parents may not think they are ready to know about it yet. It was a great way to start the conversation about sex in a developmentally appropriate way.

Perfect for explaining sex SIMPLY.
This is an amazing book and helps so much. After we closed we looked right at our son and said do you have any questions and he was literally like wow, you answered them all. From understanding adoption to understanding fertilization and sex. It was perfect. And since, he's always treated sex with respect, and always come to us with his questions. We strongly recommend this to every person!! Explaining sex was so easy!

This book, the second in the series, is wonderful! We loved Jim Burn's first book and used it with our daughter during her 3-5 year old timeframe. Now that she is 6, we've begun reading this new one. It has provided just the right amount of information without including inappropriate content that is not suitable for a child at this age. The book has sparked many good conversations and even helped us further our dialogue about her adoption. We were truly thankful that they included adoption as a part of the teaching. I would highly recommend this book to any parent who wants to utilize a Biblical framework for teaching about purity and sex.

Just the basics! All you need to introduce how babies are made
I love how the explanation develops, how adopted families are included and that the foundation is built on God’s love and the love of the parents.

Perfect for our 8-year-old!
Our son has been asking us about babies off and on for the past year or so, more and more. After hearing Jim Burns speak at an event and mention this book, I looked it up. We bought it and held onto it for about a year before our son was asking more ("I know I was in your tummy, but how did I get OUT?" was the main one). My husband and I sat down and read it all the way through to him. He asked us a few questions, and seemed completely satisfied with the amount of information he was given. Great book! We're saving it to read to his little sister in another year or two...

Must buy! Great book for young kids
Very beautiful words to explain such a hard topic but it made it so easy. I loved it and would definitely recommend it to my friends and use it again with my youngest daughter when the time comes!

Slim on the sex education
The information seems appropriate for different ages. Children should always know names of their own genitals and the lucky ones have siblings in their life to know the differences from the start. There is only two pages of actual sex education out of 47 pages. It is mostly about pregnancy which my children already know about, so this could create an impression that the purpose of sex is to have a baby rather then bonding.I appreciate NOT having a picture of a couple’s lovemaking like so many other ‘Christian’ books, but I think diagrams of genitals are appropriate and helpful. The boys’ genitals are diagramed, but the word vulva does not even appear! We see girls internal organs instead of their genitals. This disparity is concerning, it could create a sense of vulvas being shameful if we can’t even speak of them.Aside from that it is very well written. I liked the description of marriage and how sex fit in it. It even touches on body safety. I will be using this when the time is right.

Recommend this book!
We weren’t sure how to give the “birds and bees” talk with our boys, so we were very happy we came across this book! It lays it all out in a way that is age appropriate and just enough detail for young minds. By reading this book to our boys, it made the “talk” less uncomfortable for both us and the kids. Highly recommend!

Hoe God makes Babies.
Age appropriate. Well written. Covers adoption. Multi-ethnic. Well done. My kids enjoyed learning about how they were made. Bought the next one because I was so pleased with this one and it is just as good for the next stage/age. Thanks!
