Great raincoat
So glad I bought this coat in early autumn 2013!! Has been prefect for this rainy winter (2013/14). Keeps me completely dry even on 2 hour dog walks in the pouring rain. Clips with poppers up high on the neck to keep rain and wind out and corduroy collar lining is gentle on the face. Hood is fine for me, its size means it does not blow off in the wind. Sleeve ends can be kept tight tight with attached velcro straps. Inner cotton lining (including hood) means coat comfortable and warm on windy/not to cold days. On cold days I wear a thin 'Thinsulate' thermal jacket underneath. Sized generously as other reviewers have indicated. I am size 12, bought a size 10 so could wear long sleeved thermal jacket. Also tried- it a size 8, which fitted more closely and was slightly more flattering but too tight for fleece/thermal jacket. Outer fabric not goretex/aqua-dry or equivalent so does not breathe and so probably not a summer raincoat. Wipes down well - I have had no problem wiping off muddy paw prints. Navy is a proper dark navy blue. External side pockets are deep but have no zip or fastening. Has one fair sized inner pocket which does not have a zip, just a small piece of velcro. Also a small inner phone pocket with no zip/velcro - my phone could slip out when I bend down, though it hasn't. Could do with zipped inner pockets for wallet etc. A nice looking, functional coat.

One happy purchaser.
I recently bought this coat because I needed a long shower proof coat as I intend to walk to work in future in all weathers. It is only a 10 minute walk but you can get quite wet in 10 minutes when it is raining heavily and I didn't want to arrive looking like a half drowned animal. And this coat has not disappointed. During the last few weeks it has been very well tested and has kept me dry and warm. Very pleasing is the hood, which stays in place even when windy. As I am just over 5foot tall it comes down almost to the bottom of my trousers. Sizing is generous but I bought it larger than needed so that I can fit a fleece or thick cardi on underneath. I suspect that I will need this extra layer later on in the year as the coat does not have a warm quilted lining. However it does have a nice woven lining right through even on the collar which makes it nice and cosy around the neck. I decided on the nice blackberry colour which is a lovely rich shade and does not look too "farmery". I am very pleased with my purchase as it meets all my requirements.

It's the coat I wanted, but I received a used item.
I am happy with the coat, but less so that I have received a used return item. There was a half used Tesco pocket pack of tissues in one pocket and some tell-tale cat hair on the velcrow cuff fastenings. It also came with no tags. For the price I paid, I would have expected the item to be checked carefully and re-tagged. It's not nice feeling you're wearing someone else's clothes when you've paid £60 for the privilege, and if I had been giving this as a gift it would have looked as though I had wrapped up a cast-off. Other than this though, the product would have received five stars. I chose chinchilla and love the colour.

Waterproof!!
I took me years to find a coat that really is waterproof, so I was slightly sceptical about this one. I can say it has passed the test, it is long enough to cover my legs, I'm 5.7" and finding a long coat is not easy. I was out for 2 hours walking my dog in the pouring rain this morning and came back home totally dry. The only thing is the hood is slightly short so you need to wear something else under it if you want to fully cover your hair and in the winter you need a fleece under it to keep warm but this is not a critical remark, just stating facts. I am really happy with this coat, it does the job and looks nice too.

Excellent.
This is a brilliant coat. Lightweight, wind proof and waterproof. Full length and roomy giving plenty of room for thick jumpers or even another warmer coat, with a cape that sloughs off water, a high neck that keeps the water out and allows you to remain snug, a wide vent at the back which leaves plenty of room for striding out,,and despite its voluminous size is very lightweight. Plus a detachable, lightweight and roomy hood.I wanted it for the days when there are real downpours, as am tired of coming home even in the summer months shivering and drenched below hip level, and full length trench coats are generally heavy to carry and to wear, and rarely truly waterproof or come with hoods. I can scrunch this up and shove it in my messenger bag when the weather forecast predicts torrential rain. The coat arrived without the advertised hood. If you want to find out what customer service should be like, then this is the company that ticks all the boxes. They were back to me within minutes, and arranged for a hood to be sent from the manufacturer which arrived in express time.I am thrilled with my purchase. I got it in olive, a colour that rarely if ever goes out of fashion, and it looks to be the sort of quality that lasts years. I particularly like the lining. I even like the voluminous caped style which is so very practical, and a real classic. In fact I was so impressed I went looking for matching wellies to luckily find a heavily discounted Laura Ashley pair in an olive patterned design with cushioned soles to match. Only a hurricane would now deter me from venturing out in the wind and rain now, feeling confident I'll remain dry and safely protected from a drenching that often cause all sorts of nasty colds and flu.

Just the job
This is an excellent coat which has encouraged me to get out and walk whatever the weather. It has kept me snug and dry despite everything the northeast coast of Scotland has thrown at it. Great value too. Also wear it when taking out a wheelchair bound lady as I can't use an umbrella. Usually wear a 14 but 12 was just perfect.

Fabulous rain coat
This is a proper rain coat, I wear longish skirts and it keeps me nice and dry, keeps the wind out too, lovely lining fabric. I wear this all year round when it rains hard but you will need to be warmly dressed under the coat in cold weather. The coat just sheds the water and when I return I give it a good shake then wipe it down, it dries very quickly.
