2011 4Runner, it doesn't have a backup camera. Finally decided to use this since a friend said there are solar and wireless ones now and so I gave this a try. First things first, on a 5th gen 4runner, to lift up the liftgate, this solar camera when mounted to the license plate WILL block the handle. I didn't feel like mounting it to the lower portion of the plate for a few reasons, but I was able to modify the AUTO-VOX bracket slightly to still use it in the top 4runner plate holes. I essentially flipped the camera mount upside down (like you would if mounting to the lower holes of the plate), positioned it just low enough for the top holes to work, marked and then drilled two small holes and inserted two small bolts and nuts through these top holes so that the mount would rest on these bolts so the camera mount woudln't tilt as you close the liftgate.The other thing is the way to tighten the license plate down now is sort of blocked by the camera and battery pack, so I swapped out the license plate bolts to M6 (same thread as the lic plate bolts) so you can tighten it down from the side using an open-ended wrench. This method has been secure and is holding up. Slightly less convenient that just slamming your hand up into the liftgate latch, but if you go from the side (in between the liftgate latch handle and the camera), it works fine.One reviewer said it takes a minute to connect -- not so in my case. I counted 5 seconds before you get your camera and monitor to pair up when you hit the button, not a big deal at all. Maybe his setup has more interference but with a 4runner if you mount the monitor onto the center console/dash area, it's totally fine. There is also no lag.I didn't like the dash mount this came with, but noticed the ballhead is the same 17mm ballhead that all cell phone car vent mounts use, so I bought just the vent-clip ballhead and mounted it to my air vent instead. This socket adapter still lets me use IMO a better/more powerful charger than the one included with the camera. I bought this camera + monitor set to give me a better forward view for the lower part of my car as I need to enter a super narrow/tight space during car wash, which I’m quite struggling with.Since I couldn’t find this product available in Australian markets, I contacted the head office and beyond my expectation, the representative (Ms. Gigi) assisted me so well (before & after purchase).I found it is a high quality product (came in the box with everything you need including instructions). It’s very easy to setup, so far just need 1x charging through the provided usb cable, then the solar function will renew the battery charging afterwards. I used several cable ties to mount the camera to the front grille. Connection between the monitor & camera is using bluetooth (just need to follow the instructions & ask Gigi if you’re not sure of something). The camera also giving me a clear view & the monitor size is good (the product included a monitor stand, so no need to buy extra).Overall I’ve a very pleasant experience with the service & product. Highly recommended.

The system works good for being a wireless unit. It does have its faults though. I had the monitor mounted on my dashboard and had to reposition it later and the monitor holder that adheres to the dashboard does its job well. Pro: It stuck very well and didn’t move at all. Con: When I peel it up to move, the bottom plastic is now curled, and the adhesive is missing or thick in spots and it doesn’t look very well. I wish it came with a traditional cell phone suction cup holder. Make sure it’s where you want it, and it works great the “first” time you stick it to the dash. The biggest complaint I would have is the placement of the camera in the bracket it attaches too. The picture is offset a little and not centered in the frame. I purchased this as a backup camera for hooking up a trailer. I wanted to see the hitch on the truck and the tongue of the trailer. The first time I screwed it to the license plate area of the truck and adjusted the camera down to see my hitch, the view in the monitor was angled and way to one side. I tried using it this way a few times but couldn't get used to the picture. I ended up using self-drilling screws to mount this on my tailgate so that the picture was centered. It works great for my application, but my truck is just an old work truck. I don’t like the looks of where I had to mount it, but it works.I have only had this for a short time, but so far it is working well for me.

The camera came quickly and only took a couple minutes to install. Has been a life saver no doubt. (Keeping my 80+ year old mother-n-law from backing into stuff or people) It worked great for about 2 weeks or so (dont remeber the exact length of time) and then it died. I was able to diagnose it as the monitor had failed.I reached out to customer service and spoke with Gigi, she was very helpful and ultimately after trading just a couple emails sent me an entire new unit. (After recieving the new unit I was able to confirm that the original camera was working and the problem with the initial unit was the monitor had indeed failed.)The replacement unit Gigi sent me has been working without issue for months now.

Extremely easy to install!! Works perfectly. I’m an idiot and can’t do anything around the house as a real man should be able to, but now and again I find success. I replaced a lightbulb two months ago and am still riding that high. So imagine my trepidation when my wife asked me to install a backup camera on our daughter’s car. But I had to try, so I found this camera that looked to be the easiest option. Cut to opening the box and installing the camera; it’s a no brainer!!!! It automatically links the camera to the monitor when you turn it on. It’s fool proof!!! I love it. I’m a man!!
