I've been using OWYN Pro Elite Vegan Protein (Dark Chocolate) consistently since December 2024 and have been very happy with it. The flavor is great, it mixes well, and I love that it’s plant-based with zero sugar. I've recommended it to several people and even shared some with a friend who’s into fitness—he was instantly hooked.However, the most recent batch I received (June 2025) had a noticeable change. Both containers had a strong yeast-like odor and the shake was much foamier than usual. I tested each one multiple times, and the result was consistent. I’m not a chemist, but it feels like there may have been too much probiotics added by accident.To Amazon’s credit, they issued a refund promptly, but I do think this particular batch should be tested or recalled. It’s clearly different from what I’ve received in the past.That said, I’m still a fan of OWYN and plan to continue using it once this batch cycles out. I just hope the company looks into this quality issue and ensures it was a one-time slip.

I am gluten and dairy free, but really needed to find a protein powder that could help me meet my daily protein goal. This powder is phenomenal and I highly recommend it for people with dietary restrictions, who are also actively working on building and sustaining muscle strength.This is what I do to make the best protein shakes. I put 2 cups of protein almond milk in a blender. Then I add two scoops of the Owyn chocolate protein powder and 2 Tbs of peanut butter powder. I also add about half of a banana and 3/4-1 cup of ice. I blend that all together. It tastes like a chocolate, peanut butter, and banana milkshake. So good! The best part is, it’s less than 500 calories and has 54 grams of protein. This one shake alone gives me almost half of my protein each day. Try it for yourself!

I don’t know what’s happened over the last few months, I don’t know if the original owners sold the company. I don’t know if they’re just trying to cut costs, but the formula/recipe has changed drastically. This has been my favorite protein powder for probably a year or so now. I used to exclusively buy the cookies and cream flavor then suddenly it disappeared and you couldn’t get it anymore so I switched to the chocolate. The last container of chocolate that I bought was a very different texture Compared to the product I was used to getting. That was already setting off alarm bells and I started to worry that I was gonna have to go through the process of finding a decent protein powder again. My mom gave me a container of vanilla because she had bought it for my brother trying to help him improve his health and he doesn’t wanna do that lol 🤦🏻‍♀️ so she gave it to me. The vanilla texture was great just like the chocolate used to be so I was hoping against all hope that it was just a change with the chocolate recipe but then I was disappointed to see with my most recent purchase of vanilla that it too Has become sandy and grainy and it’s impossible to get rid of The clumps And lumps in it. Because I don’t like to drink my meals, I have been consistently making protein pancakes with this protein powder for the entirety of my purchase history with them and it’s always made amazing pancakes and the pancake batter is always super smooth, Now it’s absolutely awful. And it’s not just the batter that’s coming out awful, the end product, my pancakes now are falling apart. The texture is completely un appetizing and It doesn’t matter how much binder (egg, pumpkin purée, etc) you put in there, They are grainy, sandy and Fall apart at the first hint of Maple syrup. you can’t even get a piece up on a fork because it just disintegrates. I can’t imagine trying to drink this as a protein shake because of how awful the texture is. you would think that maybe baking it or cooking with it would reduce the texture problems, but unfortunately, that is not so. At this point, I don’t see that there’s any use for this protein powder… Well, there’s no enjoyable use for it. Very sad to have to start all over finding protein powder that meets my dietary needs and taste needs. They had something so good, now they don’t even have a product worth selling. so if the changes were made in an effort to cut costs, well, now I doubt they’ll have anything to make money off of 👎

Overall I really like this product. I am currently on a weight loss journey and needed a protein shake that was clean and would give me a decent amount of protein to help me reach my 90g+ daily protein goal. My doctor recommended the fair life Core Power but the price was to much. After comparing a bunch of protein powders to Core Power ingredients, this was the best one that I could find that was clean. It also offers me a decent amount of fiber to help me reach my daily fiber goal. It also comes with a scoop to make measuring the power easy.My only issue with it is the consistency. It has a grit to it that I cant get rid of. I have tried everything to make it less gritty but no matter what it always has the same consistency. If this is something you can deal with though I totally recommend this protein powder!

I tried this brand based on a friend's recommendation. She said it was "hands down the best tasting plant protein" (chocolate flavor).She was using the pre-made singles. I figured if I was going to try it, I'd go for the tub version. Better value and could try the product with my liquid preference.I will NOT disagree with my friend's consensus. I used 10oz of coconut milk. It's sooooooo good. Thick, not grossly sweet, and if definitely the best tasing plant protein I've tried.

The taste was good, not the best I've had but it was good. It blends up nicely. I would buy this product again, except for the packaging. I knew how many serving I was getting, and I know it is sold by weight not volume. But I felt shocked and indignant when I saw the size of the plastic container it came in, compared to the amount of product in the container. It was less then half full. It makes me mad. I don't want to store the little bit of powder in my cupboard in that huge container. Not to mention the huge waste of plastic. This company is supposed to be all about not giving us what we don't need and then sends it in a huge oversized plastic container. I will attach pictures of the container when I first opened it. I will not buy this again unless they change their packaging.
