Quick & reliable tool for repairing frames with broken points, or adding them to new frames

This tool arrives very nicely protected in a branded Meite cardboard box alongside a little package of ‘free’ flexible/bendable points on five strips to get you started. Which is plenty and genuinely what I’d consider to be a lifetime supply unless you’re making or repairing a lot of frames. The box also contains a few pieces of paper with an exploded diagram of the stapler’s various parts, a letter of conformity for some reason and a set of nicely written instructions with colour photographs outlining the setup and use of the tool. The product description mentions that the stapler holds around a hundred pieces in its magazine, which makes me feel like the claim of the stapler coming with 1000 points is a little misleading then. If the stapler holds a hundred pieces and takes almost an entire strip (one of five provided) to fill, surely the actual number is closer to 500 or 600 at most? Maybe the stapler itself holds more than a hundred pieces, I didn’t personally count it out but either way it's a little muddy whether you’re getting 1000 pieces with the stapler or if it simply holds more than advertised. The stapler is very nicely made, and it doesn’t take a huge amount of effort to adjust, load, unload and use it on picture frames. I took a bunch of the points out of the supplied box and had them loaded and driven into a random picture frame within a minute or two without looking at the provided instructions. It’s easy to adjust the depth/strength of the stapler, and it hasn’t jammed or caused me any issues on several dozen test uses on some frames that needed new flexible points and a spare piece of timber. This is one of those very specific tools that makes you have that epiphany moment where you’re like ‘well of course that’s actually a thing I can buy/own’. Before this popped up I honestly hadn’t even considered the possibility that I could get a specific stapler for driving bendable tabs/points into wood for self-made frames or repairing existing ones that have broken points from too much use.The £35.99 price at the time of writing is in the ballpark for similar point drivers from other vendors. I’m pleased with how well it works and other than the bit of confusion around the capacity or number of provided points I really can’t fault the stapler itself.

Does the job!

For years I've struggled to reframe pictures, especially getting the backing panel securely fixed. This staple gun is easy to use and effective. You need to take a little care when using but I've managed fine so far. A good product and decent value for money.

Perfect for Poster Frame Fixing

I received this for free for review as part of Amazon Vine.I didn't quite understand what this was when I first got it, and incorrectly thought it was a staple gun - it isn't. You load the gun with its supplied flat nails, then push the front side bit inside your poster frame, push down and squeeze. It will fire a nail sideways into your frame to hold the backboard in place. It's how these nails are put into poster frames when you buy them premade. It comes with 1000 nails, which is more than enough for most people. You can adjust the strength of it using a screw wheel at the back. It's very solidly made and does the job well. This is the kind of thing you'd use if you have a lot of poster frames but the darn nails keep falling out, as it allows you to replace them with stronger deeper ones into the frame. Or you make your own frames and want a way of framing items with a backboard. For those tasks it does the job well.

Industrial quality tool

This works very well at what it does. I paint and often will try to reuse frames I buy from shops. Sometimes I've found the cheaper frame backs are either held in with staples or else the little tabs you fold back, are so cheap as to break off. This tool allows you to put new, or replacement, foldable tabs into picture frames. Its very well made and solid. Works very well, there is adjustment on the strength of 'punch' of the tabs though I've pretty much left it as is and it works fine.I usually use about six tabs a frame and so the 1000 point tabs which come with this will do around 125 frames, and you can buy the frame points easily enough when needed. The tool feels made to last and while this is probably not something everyone needs if you do a lot of framing or repurposing of frames then this will be useful.
