Got an old iPhone 5 up and running again!! The new battery works great. The battery was easy to install, took about 20 minutes (watched a YouTube video that went step by step & my teenager did it). Now my kiddo has a "new" phone and if something happens to it, it won't be the end of the world. Practice for a newer more expensive phone.A few things that made it easier was using loops to magnify the tiny screws & cable attachment sites. Used double sided tape on a piece of paper (after removing the parts to keep organized until reassembly). On the paper w the double sided tape, put parts in the exact same place we removed them from (put the screws next to the holes they came from next to the little metal plates), which made reassembly easy peezy. There are different screw types so easier if you keep track of which screw goes where (only about 7 tiny screws to remove, 2 metal plates and 4 little cable attachments). When removing the glass front, limit how far you pull up, and do it with controlled force, so you don't accidentally rip the cables off if you happen to pull it open too far.Be very careful removing the battery as it can be stuck down and you do not want to puncture or damage it in any way (can get a fire that won't go out until it dies out on its own). We had a metal bucket/pan ready to slide the battery in (with a metal spatula) if we had any issues, along w a fire blanket to put on top - and get it outside). Eye protection too. Everything went well, but be prepared just in case. If you inspect the old battery, and it looks swollen or damaged would have professionals deal with it.

The battery is correct for iPhone 5 and all the other hardware were needed to do the job. You do need a steady hand and patience in dealing with tiny screws. Be careful with the screen when placing it out of the way and removing the battery may be difficult because it is glued down. I charged the battery and it is working great.

I was worried because they wanted $80 at the replacement battery store to do it for me. This is a great value for the money. It absolutely worked and included step by step instructions. I would buy again!

It is now 2024. The phone now works (the old battery had expanded and the main button on the front of the phone had not been working).The installation (thanks to youtube) was not a huge effort and the phone still works. the battery life is a bit less than at the beginning, but 9 days out of 10, the battery does not die within the day.

It quickly drains with light use. Even if it lasted 6 months I'd be happy, but after doing the charge/discharge as instructed, I ended up having to charge it mid-day after light use.I was able to install the battery without issue (instructions overall good except for the video missing the adhesive strip install). But time and money wasted. Would've been better off donating the money to charity.

Replacement of the battery was easier than expexted with all the required tools provided and clear step by step instructions. So far, the battery is holding great - I hope this will last.

Easy to install with all the right tools included. Received kit yesterday and installed in about 20 minutes. Instructions on disassembly were good although I do recommend watching online videos as well. Note: some videos say you need to completely need to remove the screen. Not so, as the included instructions say. Not completely removing screen is a big timesaver and reduces the risk of something going wrong. Instructions on assembly are sketchy but it’s just the reverse.Only use this phone for steaming music at the gym since it is small and light. Have reverted to old fashion wired headphones since the wireless ones are expensive, unreliable and seem to fail in less than a year.Too soon to comment on battery life but initial charge went fine and is being retained well enough for how I will use this phone.In summary, a decent DYI project, even for us mere mortals. Good return on investment for what used to be a dead phone.

The battery works well and the idea of the tools were good idea but tools low quality bought new tools. Used other tools, good idea suction cup. Worth it.
