You can fit them in short or tall computer cases.
The extra cable length worked well for my application.

If you need 5v outputs then this may not be the best bet depending on your motherboard
Using this for my CNC Lathe with Linux-CNC (EMC2) software. It fit the header on my motherboard and gave me the parallel port I needed.Caution: it just breaks out whatever is available on the motherboard. In my case that was 3.3v, which worked for me with the controller board I'm using. If you need 5v outputs then this may not be the best bet depending on your motherboard.

It works perfectly
I swapped out the plate with a full height one and put this in my mother's tower so her new motherboard could interface with her old parallel port laser printer. The cable is just the right length and plugs in snugly. It works perfectly.

Did the job for an old case with an VFD that uses an LPT port
I recently re-built a friend's HTPC in a D-Vine Ahanix MCE302B case. This case has a VFD with an LPT connection that actually is meant to go out the back of the case to the rear I/O of the motherboard. The motherboard I used, the GIGABYTE GA-F2A88XM-D3H, has an LPT header on-board but no LPT port in the back. This cable allowed me to connect the motherboard header to the back of the case so the VFD could be connected. The only thing I don't like about this cable is that it doesn't come with a pinout diagram. However, if you look very closely, you will see a little arrow in the black plastic. This presumably points to pin 1. If you don't notice this, you might end up plugging this in backwards. A little bit of instruction for this would have been helpful.

Works fine.
Worked. Had an old computer with an onboard LPT port. This allowed me to control the laser cutter via Mach3 on the parallel port.

Not a 1-to-1 conversion
maybe the pinout of IDC-26 isn't so standardized, but if you go top to bottom left to right, the pinout doesn't match a DB-25. Just know that this will circulate counter-clockwise. This is probably the only way to make such a cable but It'd be nice if these pinouts were specified in the description.

Does What It's Supposed To
Not much I can say about a plug in parallel port cable except that worked as it should first time I tried it. No problems at all.

Five Stars
Works fine. Used it to extend the parallel port header on the motherboard of my CNC computer.
