Fresh from his grave, confused young gay zombie Otto has memory problems, so he goes in search of the truth in the seedy underground art squats and S&M clubs of present day Berlin. It is here that he meets crazy avant-garde lesbian filmmaker Medea and her girlfriend Hella, who both encourage him to star in their political horror porn movie. However, things get complicated when Otto discovers he had a dishy ex-boyfriend, Rudolf, and pines of rekindling their relationship. Will Otto find his old flame? And if he does, how will he resist eating him!?Packed with oodles of undead gay sex and outrageous zombie satire, Otto; or, Up With Dead People is Bruce LaBruce's most audacious piece of cult cinema yet.Extras: Deleted scenes.

Not Into Zombies
I don't watch zombie films, you see one zombie, you've seen them all. But this one is a parody, about gay German zombies no less, with a bit of actual pornography thrown in. It appeals to me because it's different, and it could hold its own with the best weirdness that Japan has to offer.I toyed with the idea of purchasing the sequel - L.A. Zombie - which has a full-on pornographic version, until I watched the uncensored trailer and saw the zombies having sex wearing condoms. Dead people afraid of contracting a disease? That's a joke. But then maybe it's meant to be.

Only the sick function in a sick society!
Was dying to see this yet waited as was unsure about the whole real sex and whether it would be like a porno lol It wasn't the sex is quite unoffensive and i liked the way it poked fun of itself and allowed me as a viewer to be myself. Some art house films are so dam serious they don't give you a break OTTO does! Would not be for everyone its a cult film and you could say it is a piece of art as well. I think its one of the better gay themed films that's been made. So if you a alternative gay man like myself watch it!

umm, this is cut right?
I mean, cut to get an "18", like the UK releases of Skin Flick, No Skin Off My Ass, etc. Can anyone confirm this?Luckily it's very cheap (unlike the US Region 1). The Bruce Labruce aesthetic is: gossamer situation (let's not dignify it with the term storyline), quaint cod-Germanic solemnity, elaborate sendups of underground cinema, and lashings of straight and gay sex. The action is an important element in retaining the viewer's attention all the way through, with the interspersed scenes providing relief, as well as a novel view of the clothed performers. Am I alone in being annoyed that the UK 18 guidelines have seen this trimmed to a few longshot glimpses of obviously hardcore sequences? I mean, what's the difference between this and 9 Songs or Shortbus? If this is indeed the stump of a Labruce, alternative measures are suggested for those seeking to own it.

What the hell did some of these reviewers watch??? I hate when I waste money money on crap films like this! I own more than 3500 films on bluray and dvd and threw this away... I feel like I should've been paid to watch this... and would probably still feel robbed!
