Increases performance of rpi5
Connects as it should, performance as it should.Would recommend to anyone with a raspberry pi 5. Dramatically increases the responsiveness from the raspberry pi 5.I have now purchased several of these for my rpi5s, each operates at low power and is immediately available for someone to pull up Kodi and stream something from our Home server.

Defective SSD Expansion Board Damaged My Raspberry Pi
This SSD expansion board was defective and ultimately damaged my Raspberry Pi. I strongly caution anyone considering purchasing it.When I received the board, I immediately noticed that one of the plugs was extremely bent—far more than what’s visible in the attached photos. While I thought it was odd, I assumed it might be normal and could be adjusted. I manually bent the plug back to match images I found online and proceeded to assemble the board with my Raspberry Pi.Upon powering it on, the port on the expansion board became unusually hot. At first, I wasn’t sure if this was normal behavior, but moments later, I noticed a light smoke coming from the setup. I immediately unplugged everything to prevent further damage. After removing the expansion board, I tried powering on the Raspberry Pi alone, but now it only shows a red light and won’t boot. Upon inspecting the expansion board more closely, I noticed a chipped square circuit component (as shown in the attached photos) compared to stock images of the product online.Key Issues:The board arrived with an extremely bent plug, which was a clear defect. However, no guidance was provided about this, and I mistakenly assumed it was normal. After connecting it, the board overheated and released light smoke, damaging my Raspberry Pi in the process.Further inspection revealed a chipped circuit component, which was likely another defect that contributed to the failure. This has been a terrible experience—not only did the board not work, but it also destroyed my Raspberry Pi. I cannot recommend this product to anyone. If you receive this board with any visible defects, do not attempt to use it.# Edit 09/02Seller reached out and issued a full refund. I am therefore updating the review to 4. I can only assume this was an unfortunate one instance where the item may have been damaged during shipping given the generally positive reviews on the product. Just be mindful to review for anything that looks unusual against the stock images.

The perfect solution for running a Pi off an SSD versus an SD card.
I wanted to move to an NVMe drive for a little web server I'm running on my Pi5 and this one fits perfectly and works equally as well. So far, I've had no problems and I'd say for the price, it can't really be beat! Installation was super easy of course as it just snaps right onto the top of the Pi.

You will need an SD Card sold separately.
I attached it to my PI 5 added an SD Card, Turned it on and it connects right away. One thing to note IT ONLY WORKS CONNECTED TO A PI 5.

Why extra parts.
An extra cable was sent that added confusion to installation. Checking the inventory sheet I found out the cable was extra and things worked as they should.

Good value
Does the job and allows coolers to function underneath. More elegant designs may be available depending on your use case but if this fits it it’s worth it. Mine has been perfectly reliable with moderate use. Get a case that has a little extra room up top obviously and it’ll fit great. Speeds are good and installation was straightforward.

All kinds of memory issues on different nvme vendors
I’ve been using this product for over a year and have dealt with multiple memory failure issues as a result. I thought the memory was going bad but it turns out this board injects write errors the pi interprets as memory faults. When I replaced it with the official pi hat board and retested old memory sticks I thought were bad they worked fine. In hindsight I would not have purchased this product.
