i kinda expected metal but the piece is plastic but it is worth the price for 2

You get what you pay for.
Wiped down the badge and applied the BMW emblem which has an adhesive backing. 2 days later the emblem flies off at 60mph because adhesive is not strong enough to hold at highway speeds. Seller has not replied about a replacement.

Great Alternative to replace a emblem
I got this to replace the emblem on my 2006 325 xi trunk. The original emblem paint was peeling off. I put the replacement right on top of the old emblem. Looks great, no one can tell I didn't pay $50 for it.
