I used these parts to replace the broken gears on a two car garage heavy door. They were a perfect fit replacement and did get the door back working again, although there was more of a grinding noise coming off during the movement cycles. I left them in place for a few months, and Mom's garage door continued to work until it didn't anymore. When I inspected the gear assembly, there was a large pile of metal shavings underneath. The gears were still meshing, but the door was not adjusted properly, which caused the extra wear. The unit had burned out, and we just had a new opener installed by a professional. Bottom line, if the plastic gears break, this is at best a temporary fix, and a moderately difficult "DIY", but you can get better results with a professional door installer doing a new unit.

Just visually inspecting it, they seem to be well made with smooth mating surfaces, 1 intend to do something different with mine. Of note mostly for people who have other ideas for uses.... the worm drive gear has 2 leads on it so despite what you may expect with 32 teeth on the driven gear the effective gear ratio will be 16:1, also being aluminum make sure that you protect them from abrasives and use plenty of clean appropriate lubricant
