My Search Has Ended!
I use a lot of pepper and have purchased around a half dozen or so electric grinders, both push-button and gravity-feed styles. I have not been really satisfied with any of them. They either don't grind well, have weak motors and grind slowly, are difficult to adjust, hold too small a quantity or are difficult to refill, or just plain break after a short while. On top of that, the built-in lights on all of them were virtually worthless. I usually removed them to save battery life.As for the Gravity Electric Salt Pepper Grinder - Automatic Battery Powered, Adjustable Grind Coarseness, Blue LED Light, Great Mother's Day Gift, Premium Quality Electronic Black Pepper Mill (Stainless Steel) , these are my initial observations, reactions, and opinions: - It is nicely designed and easy to handle - Very easy to fill the generously sized hopper (this has been one of my biggest complaints with other grinders; either they hold too little or are too difficult to refill, or both) - Has a very powerful motor for fast grinding. Great if you need to grind a lot of pepper for a recipe. - Easy to adjust the grind. Haven't used it enough yet to determine if the grind sizes are fine or coarse enough, but initial impression is good - The motor seems as though it is strong enough to actually grind hard peppercorns or coarse salt. - The blue LED seems as though it may actually be useful, although I haven't used it enough yet to really tell, but it looks cool. I do wish the light was white instead of blue, but I can live with it. I just hope the light doesn't drain the batteries too quickly. - The gravity feed seems to work well, so it is easy to operate - Hopefully the AAA batteries will last a while, but this is a minor issue. I buy my batteries in bulk, so cost is not a major concern. The bottom line is that I believe I have finally found the pepper grinder I have spent years and lots of dollars looking for. I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone.Additionally, I am an Amazon Prime member; I purchased the grinder at 11:30 AM and received it by 5:15 PM the same day, so couldn't be happier with the delivery. Amazon is pretty amazing in their ability to do that. I'm lucky that Indianapolis is one of their hub cities. (Can't wait to receive a delivery via drone one day.)

This thing works and works well
This thing works great. I got another grinder as a gift and it was terrible. It would take forever to grind out the pepper and you could not select the coarseness of the grind. Now this baby puts out a beautiful courser grind on the medium setting in a matter of seconds. it holds a ton of pepper corns. In fact I only filled it up half way or my store container would be emptied. It has ceramic grinding wheels, which I think makes a big difference. The light is nice but I don't cook much in the dark, so I can't give much of a review on the light. Just that it works. I also can't say much about the coarseness adjustment because I set it to medium and the coarseness was perfect. Never touched it again. I bought this because I usually have one hand into my food and only one hand free. This thing fills the bill. I have used many hand grinding pepper mills over the years and this is right up there with the best. The hand grinder mills don't come with lights and that has never been an issue. Don't spend another penny more for a more expensive electric grinder. This thing is perfect unless the more expensive grinders have a spot light on them or plays music or something.

Awesome! Not perfect but worth every penny!
LOVE this product! Adjustable coarseness, large capacity, one handed! I could take or leave the LED light, but it looks cool. When you use it for a long period of time without stopping, it stops putting out pepper, but it always corrects itself if you put it right side up for a second before flipping it back over. I use often for my pepper shrimp recipe, and boy does this make my job quicker and easier! This recipe calls for a TON of pepper, plus we use it for cooking and weekly pepper bacon. I bought it almost 3 months ago and am just now refilling it!

Works well but not a fan of the gravity design (vs. button)
Now that I've used the pepper grinder for a few weeks I thought I'd offer my thoughts on the product.Overall, the product works well and grinds the pepper without any trouble. While not a connoisseur of cracked peppercorns, the ground pepper seems about the right size and is produced quickly and easily. The peppercorn compartment is big, easy to fill and easy to see. Although others see that others had problems putting in the batteries, I didn't experience any issues and don't know what the fuss is about. My only product complaint is that the blue LED light is pretty weak. Since it's gravity operated, the light is almost always at an angle (since I'm rotating it upside down to dispense pepper) so it doesn't light up where the pepper is going. By the time you've got the light pointed anywhere you want, you've already dispensed too much pepper. Not really a big deal but if you're a cook a better light might be a plus.My real issue (no fault of the manufacturer) is that I wish I'd bought a push button dispenser. You'd still be able to use one hand and it seems easier to hold the dispenser over the spot where I wanted to put my pepper and then press a button. The tilting seems to kick pepper around and often off the plate. Also, the grinder turns on momentarily when it is knocked on its side (which happens more often than I ever thought it would.But...if you want a gravity design then I can't imagine that any models out there would be much superior to this solid performer and I'd end my search here given the high capacity/easy to see peppercorn canister and the quality of the grinder.Haven't tried it on salt, FWIW.
