I've just received the CD phone charger automatic clamp, and immediately can tell this is built like a tank.The insert for the CD player is made of very firm plastic and comes with what appears to be silicone pads installed, and it comes with an extra set of silicone pads for future use.The ball joint also appears to be well engineered and locks very secure.Then there's my favorite features, the automatic charger locator for optimal charging efficiency and automatic clamping when the car turns on as well as automatic unclamping when the car is turned off.I have a heavy duty military grade case and it still was able to automatically position my phone for optimal charging efficiency.If you wish to open or close the clamps manually, there's a button on the left and right that you can push to do so. Both buttons light up with a blue color, and I was a bit concerned that the buttons may be an issue at night, but while they are illuminated nicely they aren't so bright to cause any issues or distractions at night.I will update my review as I gain experience with this device, but I'm super Impressed and very satisfied so far.UPDATE:I've now had this for almost a month, and it is wonderful. Works flawlessly.The only issue I've noticed is the wingnut screw that's used for securing it into the CD player mouth has a tendency to slowly unscrew and loosen. I noticed it because when it's looser the holder begins to shake when on bumby roads. Easy fix though, just tighten it up again. If this screw had a lock nut, it would fix this problem. That's what I'm planning to do.

This thing is great it charges fast. My old unit charged slow and it wasn't even fast enough to actually charge the phone it barely charged it and therefore it would slowly drop even though it was charging. However this new charger pretty much keeps my phone topped off all day. At first I thought it was going to be like my last charger and that every time you put it in the cradle it would adjust to hold it but then you couldn't pull it out and put it back in without pressing the button to release it and that was very annoying. This one I just one time and after that it stays put. The nice rubber fins allow you to pull it out easily and put it back in easily without it readjusting and that and itself makes this unit awesome! Also, it keeps the phone in place snug and it isn't as bouncy as my last one it's actually very sturdy and still. The cord seems well made The USB charger seems well made and the unit itself is definitely well made. The only thing I have to say negative is in the description it says something about reinforced metal clips. This did not come with that but that doesn't bother me at all because it's plenty strong. I recommend this to anyone who wants to charge their phone faster and have the convenience of being able to pop your phone in and out of it without worrying about it falling out or having to readjust it.

well I put a 4/5 because it does not charge my phone but looks great and it doesn't seem cheap quality. I liked it!!!

I love this phone mount!It fits perfectly in the pretty much useless CD player and locks down securely. It took me a bit to figure out that it's smarter than me. I was trying it out to see if it would charge my phone through my hard case and felt underwhelmed when it seemed to fail. I went ahead and installed it in the car, powered it up and set my phone in it. The jaws closed and it moved my phone up and down a few times before finding the sweet spot that actually started charging.It works well, finds the charge spot every time and holds the phone securely.Two thumbs up!

The clamps that hold the phone mount into the cd slot have rubber pieces glued to them. The rubber pieces pull off and the mount doesn’t stay in the cd slot. It just pops out. This also doesn’t charge the phone. It shows the phone charging but the battery percentage continues to drop. For the price this device is absolute garbage.

It says its charging but its not fast charging. I connect it to my regukar fast charging cable and it says 1 hiur and 11 minutes until full charge in 26% With the wireless charging it says 3 hiurs untill full charge
