Sometimes 'less is more.'
Beautiful photographs, well presented in a suitably minimalist way which is very much in keeping with the style of the photographs. The images are left to speak for themselves without any distracting text. The 32 photographs are each given a single page and on the facing page is a small number (1-32).At the back of the book is a short description for each of these numbered images. (Frustratingly) limited to what the subject is and where it is. I would have dearly loved the latitude & longitude references to these locations to be list too.On the inside hardback cover there is also a stylish map, again using the numbers as a reference, to show the locations where each of the photographs were taken. I wish there had been some more detailed information on the subjects of these photographs. It would have been so interesting to learn from the photographer how difficult each image was to obtain. Just how restricted are the areas he photographed now and what challenges he faced to get the shots? There are surely some intriguing stories behind these images and it would have been so interesting to have learned some of the background to these photographs , more information on the objects, structures, vehicles and buildings etc. as well. Sometimes 'less is more.' but in this instance 'more' information would have been better. If there had been some background information included as I described then this book would have got a 5 star review (easily).

Amazing work. The first edition sold by Dewi Lewis ...
Amazing work. The first edition sold by Dewi Lewis is a wonderful book with a unique design including a map highlighting the location of all the images. First edition sold out as far as I am aware - worth getting your hands on it if you come across a copy. Loved his work so much I bought a print.
