Exactly What I Expected. It Works Perfectly.
Having seen a few negative reviews, I was dubious about buying these. So I bought just one initially to judge it for myself. It’s brilliant! So these people who review it with unrealistic expectations have cost me money! The tag uses the iOS Find My software which has perfectly reasonable limitations. Find My is included with iOS software and is subscription free. Find My uses other iOS devices in the vicinity for triangulation. So, if you’re missing device is in a busy town centre, Find My will pinpoint it pretty much to the nearest inch, if you’re device is lost in a remote area, triangulation is likely to be poor, but Find My will pinpoint the devices last known location. Find My will live track movement but will not record movement. So have realistic expectations and you’ll be delighted. Also, you can use Find My to make the Autovos tag beep. The battery is replaceable. I now own five of these and I’m considering buying more for things like bikes, travel bags, cars and caravan etc. I’m not sure if there’s a limit to the number of devices that can be added to a single Fond My account.

I managed to track down a bargain
I have often considered buying some Apple Air Tags, but have been put off by the cost. This set me off on a journey to find better-value alternatives. I first looked at cheap Chinese options, which seemed appealing. However, I was worried about quality and reliability and a lack of post purchase support. This led me to look at the bestsellers on Amazon and there I found the Atuvos trackers. They have good reviews from satisfied customers, both on Amazon and on other websites. I particularly liked that ATuvos have a licence from Apple to use the FindMy app and its technology - ie it works just like an Apple Airtag and uses the same app from the Apple app store. I also discovered claims that these tags will also work on Android phones, which I have not tested. My delivery of four Atuvos tags arrived two days ago. The instructions led me to a very quick setup of all four tags on my iPhone. When you do this be careful not to attempt to connect the FindMy app to an AirTag. Instead, choose the option "Add other item" and from that point it is quick and simple. The tags have a range of up to 200m and once it piggybacks on other users' iPhones the range is global. The internal speaker is loud across a room. The CR2032 battery that is used, it is claimed, will work for a year. It is also water-resistant.The most attractive feature is that, unlike the Apple tags, the Atuos tags have an off switch which can be used to extend the life of the battery. The only, small, disadvantage is that the licence that Atuvos have negotiated with Apple is that it does not allow you to use a compass in the house to point you in the direction of lost keys etc. I have tested my Atuvos tags by asking people taking them away from our home and me being to track their location from our home.Would I recommend this product if you want to tag your luggage when travelling or tag your cat? I would do so without hesitation.

Avoid all Stop working after 11 months. Stick with Apple
All failed and Stopped working after 11 months. Some are cycling between on and off. Some after reset won’t re-register. Before they failed they worked really well but couldn’t reccomend

Not completely waterproof..
I purchased 4 of these tags for my keys and dogs. I let my dog loose in the park with one of the tags for the first time this morning. It was working great until she went into the water and the tag got wet. After she came out of the water, the tag stopped working for around 30-45m, which is not great if she were to run out of the park and get lost. It was not an issue of lack of Apple signals since it was a built up area and tag was working fine until she went into the water. After she came out of water, the tag only showed last recorded position in the middle of the park for 30-45minutes and said distance was to long to ring the device even though the dog came home with me with tag stiil on her collar. Since the tag started working again later, I still plan to keep the tags for now and possibly tape the bottom of the tags where there is a gap for opening the case to insert the battery. However, I would like to complain about the claim that the tags are waterproof as I'm not sure they really are. I'll keep testing them for next month and see what happens. They are great though when they work...Update: the tag which got wet stopped working altogether after just one day so I claimed a refund, which Amazon was very good about. I still plan to use these tags on my dogs, but wrap them in plastic.
