Real Karakul (Persian lamb) papakha fur hat, similar to the one worn by army generals and other high ranking officers in the Russian Empire, including Pyotr Wrangel. Kuban Cossacks from the private guard of Czar Nicholas II also wore similar black hats. Extremely soft and warm. Shade of gray may vary. Height is variable: up to 9 1/2 inches (can be tucked in at the crown to shorten). Production time: up to 5 business days.

This is a really good value. Price of shipping can be high but company is very responsive to questions and product is really nice! I was pleased enough with this purchase that I have since made several other buys through this company's regular shopping cart. All have gone smoothly. They sell several other nice hats and items on their regular site. If the price looks high to you initially, ask yourself what you would be paying to have a hat custom fitted locally.
