Lots of bad reviews is it as good as people say?
Anyone use these on a 35" scale jackson spectra js3v? i see a reviewer mentioning the low b was too short for their 35" bass.
What is the difference in sound between the nickel & stainless steel?
Is the B string tapered?

Incomparable!

After trying several uncoated and coated strings (some VERY expensive) I bought these strings in July 2023. It's December 2024 and I've not changed them yet. They still sound very good. I play a lot, so these strings staying crisp for this long is incredible.I bought another set, I may install it just for the sake, or maybe not!Great strings, perfect on my Status Graphite S2 Classic 5 Strings Headless Bass.

Stainless?? More like nickel

These strings are coated stainless steel strings. But sound, and due to the coating, feel like a good quality nickel set...I've had these on my bass for about four months and they are just starting to die a little now. But to me that's good going, has I do play a lot maybe one to two hours everyday .. I've never cleaned them either which was a must for me with uncoated strings or they'd be dull within a day or two. if like me you change your strings regular elixirs will save you a fortune. They also sound great!! In all styles fingers, slapping, tapping..So if you normally play nickel strings these could be the strings for you

Great tone & long life guaranteed

Having been playing for over 50 years now I've always stuck with my usual brand of strings but until it was suggested to me to try these. Wow - so bright & quite smooth under your fingertips. Long lasting , great tone & a fair price so I will be using these from now on. Try them & you won't be disappointed !

Expensive but good.

I actually bought these in error, as I really wanted the nickel version, but I'm very happy with them. Warm sound unlike some steel strings, and they record very well. They are expensive, but I haven't noticed any dip in quality even after playing them for a month or so.

Expensive but the Best

I have purchased these strings many times previously, great sound, nothing else compares, very expensive but you forget about that when you replace your old strings & hear the difference.

They feel so good compared to other strings and they keep their tone ...

I've been using Elixirs for a few years now. They feel so good compared to other strings and they keep their tone for ages. But they are getting very expensive so next time I may look around to see if there is anything else with polymer coating or similar feel.

Elixir reigns supreme once again

i am very please with these strings. They are made from steel, yet they have a nice feel to them (thanks to the coating) and despite its price, these are easily the best strings I've ever used in a bass guitar. Highly recommended*.* they are a bit more staccato than nickel ones, yet not as much as other stainless strings.
